Amazingly young for a 40+ yr old vintage port. Some coolness/menthol on palate, which was surprising. Not a profound bottle, but very nice. Just a bit, dare I say, boring?!!
Hot nose; full and hedonistic on palate. This is open for business, albeit still pretty primary at this stage, and because of the lack of much tertiary stuff for me a bit simple. But *masses* of stuffing left in this, and be thrilled to have a lot of this in the cellar!
Really long. Brilliant and really bright 'tawny' characteristics. Obviously much younger, but this is so much more direct/linear than the Grahams 40yr old blend tasted alongside. *Really* good.
Wow. Pretty transparent. Real sweetness; full of fruit and life. Absolutely ageless. Perfect provenance (BBR's cellars since released) which no doubt helped! Might be the best port I've ever drunk.
Quite developed. Little bit less backward and more developed than the outstanding W63 tasted alongside. Pretty punchy; there's a real weight to this that builds and builds.

NV Graham Porto 40 Year Old Tawny 92 Points

Surprising acidity; not as mellow as expected for a 40yr old tawny. Almost tart!! Good but a little bit disappointing vs expectations.
