(Tasted Blind): A very pale to lemon colour: youthful. Aromatic with white peach, Galia melon and floral lemon notes, reminiscent of a Riesling style. Light-bodied, the palate is soft, fat and with red apples and lemon, long in the mouth and with zingy, clean, and crunchy acidity. The wine holds its bubbles well, with a touch of residual sugar. I liked the vibrant, high, almost strident acidity, giving the wine a saline, ozone feel and bringing out the apples and citrus notes. Maturation: 46 months on lees, made from Pinot Noir using the method champenoise.
(Tasted Blind): A very pale lemon colour with medium bubbles, a distinct floral and apple note, and the absence of autolytic characters (More likely Charmat method). A confected entry, light in weight with sugared almonds, boiled sweets and dried apples. Narrow style with a medium finish marked by apple and bitter almond, with a tang. Fair example of Prosecco with its distinct floral and appley character. Not to age, enjoy in youth. Method: Cuve Close method
(Tasted Blind): Mid to gold colour with medium-sized but fairly persistent bubbles. Reminds me of a white Rioja with bubbles. There's a distinct autolytic character, reminiscent of a Chardonnay from Burgundy rather than Champagne and the yeasty note is quite intense with a saline character coming through. Showing some time on lees. The palate reflects with earthy, leesy notes coupled with a shot of vanilla extract and some filo pastry. A medium+ acid but not the higher levels I expect such as in Champagne. Complex and lovely maturity the wine is mouthfilling and expands to the outer reaches! A very long finish finishing with riper tropical fruits. Pretty smart!
(Tasted Blind): A pale salmon colour with large, persistent bubbles. Fresh on the nose with wild strawberries and freshly picked raspberries. A very dry entry, the wine has bracing acidity and feels quite lean. Red fruit flavours come through as well as a noted elegance. Lighter-bodied, the wine lasts long in the mouth with quite a searing acidity that drives through horizontally. Blend: The wine comprises 50% Pinot Noir, 10% Pinot Meunier, and 40% Chardonnay. Spends 18 months on lees. dosage 8g/L
(Tasted Blind): Fine persistent bubbles rise steadily, and the colour is more md-yellow with flickers of pink. Plenty of lees-y autolytic characters on the nose. A richer, riper style with a creamy mousse entry and notes of ripe lemon and golden apple. Mouth-filling and rounded, with a positive touch of sweetness to the wine. Well-structured and balanced, this is very much an open-knit style that is eminently gluggable Champagne and last for a good while on the finish. Not top-notch but lovely. RS: 7 to 8g/l, spends 3 years on lees. Made by Champagne Alexander Bonnet
(Tasted Blind): A deep yellow-gold with persistent bubbles. The bouquet reveals many autolytic notes, akin to old Burgundy with elements of creamed honey, Pink Lady apple and Thorntons toffee. Some citrus threads throughout. The palate is intense and mouth-filling with a firm, piercing acidity and lingering finish. superb!
(Tasted Blind): A mid-straw colour with persistent bubbles and aromas of fine autolytic notes, plenty of fresh, pure fruit and some creamy stone-like qualities (mineral). The entry is rich and mouth-filling with a glut of red fruits and a crisp acidity that pulls on the gums but isn't aggressive. It comes through as dry but with sweeter fruits that broaden and flatten out the mid-palates. It was not the most delicate or lithe wine, but it was delicious and deep but perhaps a little commercial. Still enjoyed it through! Blend: Usually made from 2/3rd red grapes, one-third white grapes.
(Tasted Blind): A medium, lemony colour with green edges. Plenty of persistent bubbles, and the nose has a prickly to it and feels very Chablis-like with those oyster shells. An elegant ballerina of a wine, with sinew and extraordinary intensity and penetration. Lithe towards lean with mineral edges and a zippy, lemon-zest-coated acidity. This is hyper-focused and has an extended finish. Excellent wine!
