pale yellow / gold colour. Smokey aromatic nose, semillon showing quite strongly. Surprisingly viscous but with good acidity making it crisp and refreshing. Easy drinking and enjoyable
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru
Not oxidised! - Hooray! Clear yellow pale gold colour. Bright fruit and some oak on the nose. Lovely balance to this - and a long finish. Overall a little simple - but with some more age may improve.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny
what a delicate but interesting nose. Some signs of maturity here now, with bricking edge and early forest floor aromas. good acidity maintains freshness still predominately red fruits on the palate. Lovely Chambolle, light on it's feet and so drinkable. I think this is premier cru standard.
Deep red / purple. Lovely sweet expressive nose of smoke and fruit - cherries and plums. Full bodied and dense but lots of fruit and interest here. Very drinkable now but will develop with time I'm sure.
Dark deep red, young looking. Surprisingly open aromatically - smoke, spice and hints of leather and licorice. Smooth and velvety in the mouth, but a little short and tart. Needs more time but I think will come good.
France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Dark ruby, with some bricking. Raspberry + plum fruits but more tannin evident than I recall previously. Licourice, herbs and some earthy tones balance up the rich fruit well, but the tannins are there! Still a hugely enjoyable wine, but more austere than previous bottles
Unsure what to expect. A birth year wine that should have been drunk last year! Decanted for 2 hours prior to drinking (huge sediment!). Quite a pale red / brown colour. Plenty of spirit on the nose, but also some fig like fruit. Not as unbalanced on the palate as I expected and very enjoyable. Plenty of fruity figs caramel and nutty tastes to balance up the warm alcohol. Someone suggested this was the first year Croft bottled Quinta da Roeda - not sure myself!

Probably too young. Not very giving on the nose, and feels sturdy and four square.Dark fruits, but verytight and not giving much at all.
