Erik Pounds arranged at tasting for us Siduri/Novy, so we played hooky for the day and did an offsite! Very friendly folks at Siduri, though they were in middle of bottling so things were a bit crazy.
2003 Novy Family Wines Chardonnay Rosella's Vineyard
USA, California, Central Coast, Santa Lucia Highlands
Fruit from Rosella's vineyard, famous for Pinots. Not the typical oak and butter bomb expected for a California Chardonnay. Full bodied with a crisp finish. Quite enjoyable and is the first Chardonnay I have bought in a long while.

2002 Siduri Pinot Noir Muirfield Vineyard
USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley
Didn't do much for me at all. Nose was OK, but taste did very little for me.

2002 Siduri Pinot Noir Russian River Valley
USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley
Good nose. Balanced body. Nice solid finish. An enjoyable Pinot blended from multiple vineyards. Would be a good compliment for food. A "value" at $25 for a solid Siduri Pinot.

2002 Siduri Pinot Noir Van der Kamp Vineyard
USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Mountain
Seems lighter than the Rosella's at first, because the nose is not as forward. Smoky flavor profile vs. Rosella's fruity profile. More interesting and complex midpalette in my opinion. Enjoyable finish. My favorite Pinot of the four Siduri's tasted at the time.

2002 Novy Family Wines Zinfandel Russian River Valley
USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley
Fruit from the Carlisle Vineyard, but this is the second wine which is only classifed as a Russian River Valley wine. Very good, spicy nose. Nice full body and good finish. Quite enjoyable, especially for $17!

2002 Novy Family Wines Meritage
USA, California, North Coast, Mendocino County
Merlot 40%, Cab 33%, Cab Franc 27% from the Alder Springs vineyard. Fruit forward with floral hints from the Cab Franc. Medium body. A nice red table wine.
