4/5/2017 - iamandyc Likes this wine: 95 pointsMy last and still an amazing bottle of wine. As good as much more expensive NAPA cult wines. Still Rich, crazy complex and great tannins to back it all up. Looong finish. Decades of life left. I'll buy anyone's bottles they care to part with!

2/13/2015 - RJurman Likes this wine: 90 pointsI have been a huge fan of Rocca Family wines. I had documented this 2004 vintage on several occasions as the one I think is the best to date. However, the last two bottles I have had are starting to fade a bit. Still fabulous but drink them now.

2008 Le Macchiole Paleo RossoToscana IGT Cabernet Franc more |
1/16/2016 - studleytrey Likes this wine: 92 points1st Paleo for me and with 3 '08s in holding, I figured it was time to check in since we were having braised short ribs, and it was in fact a great pairing. Deep opaque ruby coloring. Aromas of dark fruit, graphite, tar, green and jalapeño pepper, and herbs. Medium body and acid, long finish, and flavors of dark fruits, minerals, and a touch of herbs. Tannins are lightly grippy but pretty smooth. It's a good wine, but not very good QPR. Curious to see what age does.

12/26/2014 - RJurman Likes this wine: 95 pointsWow! This wine was truly spectacular even at this stage. It is young, and a bit tannic but I can't see this wine getting any better. Unfortunately, it did not last long enough to truly evaluate it over time, but I have three more and will not go near them for a least a few years.

9/10/2013 - RJurman Likes this wine: 94 pointsAnother 9 months past, and my last bottle of the 04. I'm really going to miss it. Still as good as ever. Absolutely my favorite vintage. Still the most fruit driven vintage, but I still maintain it is the most balanced. It just works. Thanks Mary and Celia!

It surprises me when I read a review like the one from Psmith basically calling it furniture polish. Give it a few hours of air and just enjoy it.
