I must say I prefer its distant cousin, Monte Alpha Cabernet, then this. It is really fruit driven and it is great unlike other Argentine's, this one is under control. Excellent legs. However, it does not have much seconday that I love. Nevertheless a good wine.

The nose is actually pretty nice. However, nothing else works. Every single aspect of the wine seems to be fighting for attention.

This wine feels very much like an Aussie semillon with a little bit of cool breeze. Noticeable of oak presence, a little more than my palate but it is just fine. Nice golden color with lingering finish. Score may improve in time.

I have listened to the sales and decanted it for ove an hour. Still very much Argentine, relatively sweet and acidic under a long finish. Tropical fruits under a full body wine. Color is pretty much purple. My guess is the 4 grapes are pretty much even in proportions. Not bad for the price.

Very obvious of Argentina's powerful opening and Michel Rolland's finishes. Body is a bit less than full. Very nice legs though. Quite oaky. You can feel a bit of the terrior of high altitudes, little bit of earthy chalky. Not really a fruit bomb. My relatively low score reflected 2 things: a low grade cork, that breaks into half with no sign of dry out, and relatively sweet. Finishing is not strong in terms of spice but a long lasting of oak stays in the mouth. Great value for the price, yet I prefer Chilean's on average.

Tried at in store tasting. Unmistakenly Parker's style of wine. Perhaps too strong for me yet. Very obvious that the Malbec dominated but it has some finesse. The fruit taste was good with long long finish. I think it will take a year a least before this wine is drinkable, and probably will peak in 2 to 3 years time.

Perhaps it is not my cup of tea = Malbec and Merlot. Initial nose is strong, rasberry and caramel, and inital taste is similar too. Color is not that deep relatively speaking. However, it went flat pretty fast, rather, it changed into totally something else, nose was still very powerful with same character, but it tasted totally different. Earth, dust, dirt etc where the fruit element basically disappeared. It turned from this warm sunshine feeling wine to cold winter deep thinking wine in 1 hour time. People who likes this characteristic may rate higher.

My apology. I was trying to clean up the unwanted wine the other night and I though this bottle has to go. This time the wine is properly decanted. Same o same o, but after 60 mins things are different. It opens up a lot. Sweetness in the begining follow by complexity of fruit and spice, black current to be exact. The earth, dust, ash feel is still there but somehow it all matches up. It is still not really my cup of tea but I must say this wine is well made. Now is the right time to drink but probably will last for another year or 2.

It took around 30 mins to show its real character. Lovely wine. Zesty lemon with hint of passion fruit in taste. The long it breaths, the longer is the aftertaste, with a good balance of spice. The balance is good, particularly with the acidity. I this wine has reached it prime and start to run downhill pretty soon.

Decanted for around an hour, but still feel the heat and sun on the nose - like a fireball attacking your nose. They try to make it complex with menthol, a bit dark fruit, a little bit of everything. Good begining, not bad in the middle and not bad finishing. Howver, soon after in the mouth the taste and the water seperate. Is it because the wine needs a few month to sink in? I appreciate their effort in making the wine but the quality of the grapes is very average. However, given the price, what can you expect?

An absolute dissappointment. Very light in color, weak nose, weak taste just difficult to get a touch on it. For this price, I can get much better Aussie Chardonnay from other wine makers like Pensfold (which I think is cheaper). Made a wrong choice on this wine.

Couple weeks ago I had 2006 Hollick Shiraz Cab, and was pretty enjoyable. After proper decanting it showed distinctive characteristics of both Shiraz and Cab. This one, being from my favorirate Aussie winery for sentimental reason, is a relative dissapointment. Initially had it through a vinturi, very powerful with finesse. Color is purple. Full body of course. Aroma is dominated by blackberry. Taste has bit of oak and plum. Spice finish. Weak but long finish. You may ask: what went wrong? My answer is: where is the cab? It is pretty enjoyable for Aussie Shiraz standard, good (but not great) value too. Personally if I am looking for muscular (but not overwhemingly muscular) Aussie Shiraz at this price point, I would go for Magic Magpie of d'Arenberg. Both have similarities in roundness.

Got to shake it baby! This wine is powerful yet so silky. There is a slight feel of California there but the heat buried there makes it Aussie stuff for sure. You can say it feels like a second wine of their top notch Shiraz.

A reflection on the vintage? Weak in nose and medium body. Fairly subtle in taste. Fruit is not overwhelming. After 3 hours lots of herbs emerge. Noticeable mentol in the beginning and medium spice finish. Not a typical Aussie Cab.

If you are tasting blind, it will make you think twice before saying this is Southern Aussie Shiraz. It is not an ordinary daily drinking Aussie Shiraz. Color is fairly ruby, not to heavy in the body, rather, cripsy I find. It does not have the cough syrup taste, rather, fairly light (and a bit elegant) in terms of fruit. Not to complex. No tannins at all as compared to other Aussie Shriaz. Finish is not strong too. A simple wine for those do not like palate attacking Shiraz.

Good value, but don't expect it is comparable to other 90 RP wine. Medium to full body (which I was surprise), please oak taste but not too strong. Typical CS. Yet, all the feelings and images are not so strong. It is still a good wine for the value. Decanted for 90 mins.

Very typical Cab / Merlot. Not sure there is any noticeable oak presence. Pop and pour is ok but can use a bit of decanting. A nice dinner wine but I would either go the a level below or a level higher.

I mean no disrespect. This wine is what would I anticipated: medium body, aromatic with little leather. Easy going. However, the finishing is flat, not none but flat. Overall the wine felt too simple. If you want something light but non-pinot, this is the wine to go for, but I have tried something in similar quality (like those house wines in bars) but costed at least 30% less. I guess this is the reason for a relatively low score that I gave. Costs aside this wine feel like a score of 86.
