One glass fr glass btl at restaurant La Verdura (Yokohama).
Quite broad, darkly fruitsy and fine for early drinking CS.
Not quite our cup of tea.
Points given for the genre.
Not at all for keeping.

Magiskt vackert vin!

(H 97p.)

Magically beautiful wine!
Big, ripe fruit that gravitates towards the deeply artistic rather than the modern swollen. Deeply elegant and rich fruit with lovely teeth. The wine is not there yet and I am convinced that this is one of the best Malbec wines that Trapiche has released.

Crazily much better than anything I've had from this house before!

Absolutely stunning wine, still on its way upward.
Perfect structure and intensity on top of a rich, plush wine that is towards the classic French expression of Cot. Excellent length, kept us curious throughout the dinner and performed miracles with the grilled deer.

This is A LOT of wine, flamboyant even. A huge nose with the complete theme park. Too modern and un-interesting for my taste. Nevertheless, a well made handicraft. Better drinkability than mediocre "classics".

Epic bubbles (blinded) (Zorg's place, Umeå, Sweden): Cold butter with lingonberry jam. Rich, fat, coarse red wine that was a treat after over 20 bubbly wines. I really prefer the red ones.

Non-blind. Slow-ox for 28 hrs.
Impression: outstanding.
Black and blue wine with grande nose of Malbec-blueberries (somewhat artificial ester nose) and roasted oak.
In the mouth it immediately screams at you as something several leagues above its price tag. This is magnificent! This is Vin Diesel with a smile. Tannins are M++ with a fruity grin. Acids are great and all in all working together for a potentially long lived wine.
This simply translates to a fecking awesome QPR...
Back label reads: "decant slowly as this wine may have natural depisits resulting from ageing." And it's a 2011 wine, just barely botteled...
Uncertain as to this wine's ageing capability, but willing to get a couple of btls for the wine cellar time machine medium haul programme.

Non-blind. First glass of "glass-wine-btl" @Arlanda Airport.
Dark, purple.
Fruity nose with some plummy depth.
Fruit forward wine w/hi acids and small tannins. Malbec perfumes do the twist in the finish. Simple and easy drinking full bodied wine for early drinking. Not particularly interesting, but at the better end of the GOOD-spectrum.
I've had better airport wines.

5dan FAIL dinner: aiming at November! (Bisi-Basi, Yokohama): Too simple for its price.
However, it's a decent wine for what it is. A lot of sediment due to over extraction. Low acids. All in balance, but there is no depth. Surprisingly poor delivery.

Day 1: 90p
This has great Malbec sense. I would probably have guessed France as this is beautifully restrained and has no "New World Vibes".
Dramatically tannic, balanced and long.
Not overly complex but rather intense.
Very satisfying!

In this btl, oxidization has started to come on forward. Still mild, but if your game is "FRUIT!!!" you may be a little late to the party.

Day two: 92 p
Amazing things happened overnight.
Oxidative notes blew off, and up jumped the leather, menthol, red fruits, blueberries, herbal qualities and a superbly well-balanced structure.
Brilliant wine!

Disappointing given the older brother 2011. Color weak to be a Malbec. Nose very young with raw berry aromas and a bready biscuity aroma. Acids sharp, tannin coarse and an oily character that seems to emanate from crushed pits and stems. There is some oomph and a good structure as in the 2011, but this is not a very good wine today. I spell it out as "Average", under "Good".
One glass with Hjalle @home. The rest of the wine for Friday's sauce. (Will of course taste it before saucing, hoping for a miracle!)

Friday came, and after a small sip and no miracles: Off to sauce it went. This is a wine for masochists and self mortificators. We prefer pleasure in life and especially restrained pleasures.

This is an elegant Argentinian Malbec. Made for early drinking, this wine still manages to be interesting throughout the whole dinner. Marvellous balance built on refined fruit and a superb mix of acids. M- tannin and long finish. We let it breathe in the decanter for little over 3 hrs, could have used 6 hrs.
We agree with Timbalimba's note on aromas and would like to add menthol on the nose and blueberries on the palate.
At La Verdura, Yokohama. Wife agrees on the score. Fantastic QPR.

Wow!
This is great value for your money if like the genre.
Twice as good as The other PN tonight and at half price.
Has an ok New World style fruity PN nose.
Palate is interesting, M- body, M acids and miniature tannins. M length and an elegant structure that makes for some smiles.
With TS we both agreed this was the better PN wine of tonight, and subsequently was finished before we got on with the Akarua Rua.
With TS, some crackers, cheese and then grappa (Stlm, Sweden)

This is now mature, but still has a long way to continue walking.
Rich, long and fairly complex. Quite distinctly New Worldly in a great way. This is no ballerina.

Comparing to previous notes, the tannic structure is now in a very good place.

Wife rarely enjoys wine from South America, but this one she was quite pleased with.

Slightly better than average because of purity and some small Chard characteristics. But during an evening of fabulous whiskeys, this is just too small to matter. No tar, no peat, no beard, no brawls... The producer's name is also completely non-poetic and I didn't finish my glass. I'm about to take a vow to not drink poor wine ever again. Especially poor whites, rosés and Beaujolais...

A lovely wine in an unnecessarily heavy btl. Enormous concentration but absolutely no sediment!

Blackish red with no sign of bricking.
Nose is filled with black currants, blueberry jam and some cooling menthol overtones. There's a bit of spice, very little barrel treatment and purity of fruit.
In the mouth, it feels like drinking a very young wine. It feels extracted, but is perfectly balanced, and had thrown not even a tiny bit of sediment!!! Is almost a caricature of CS in the way the black currants, angry tannins (still hiding behind the young fruit) and CS bodybuilding is present.

I think that at 9 years of age, as this is currently untouched by time, that early to mid 2030ies will see this one rise to its platform of big pleasure.

It is nice fruit juice drinking today, but hardly as satisfying as it one day surely will be.

92p for today, but with a top score in the making!
Wish I had more bottles and a really long life ahead of me!

Red, towards dark.
Beautiful rich, pure, calm black currants on the nose.
In the mouth, this is intense, dark-fruited with pure cassis, long, complex and aaaaamazing! If 'delicious' was a wine, this would be it.

Still a long life ahead.

Decanted too short time because the chosen wine (a silly Barbera) was found wanting for one of this World's greatest restaurants 90 mins before leaving for the restaurant...

Purple colour, no sediment (!) and intensely rich color.
Nose is with Malbec blueberries and several other components. Insanely young and is screaming of infanticide.
In the mouth, it is separated: acids do their thang, fruit does its thing and tannins do their dang... But there is incredible depth in there. Absolutely fabulous! When it all comes together, this will be a World Class great wine. Yay! :)
Really, really looking forward to our 2nd and final btl in maybe 10 yrs from now... Depending on what is written about the ~100 btls in CTers' cellars.

This is a blast!
Very dark red.
Large nose of coffee, blueberries and something smokey.
In the mouth this is refined and dramatic. Distinguished concentration, a full body, M+++ tannin, M acids and a pure berry expression that does not ring the Malbec-bell in my mind. However, this is outstandingly distinct and delicious, a superb creation. Comes from a warm place. Still young. Last btl some time after 2020.
