Ce Gewurztraminer "cuvée Maxime" proche d'un grain noble révèle une robe orangée, légèrement ambrée, brillante, au nez très riche (orange, abricots secs), persistant et caressant (fruit de la Passion, litchi), une bouche très suave, très riche, concentrée et complexe (orange, fruits confits, abricot, mangue, rose, épices...), d'une grande longueur et d'une suave amplitude. Un grand vin auquel j'ai attribué 3 coups de foudre (2005-2013-2015) et c'était, hélas, la dernière bouteille de ma cave! |

In fact, I would say that its flavor profile is similar to the primary notes of the 1989 Chateau d'Yquem, but with somewhat less intensity and nuance. Really excellent. |

Definitely honey and beeswax along with apple and pear. The wine didn't have big "wow" flavors, but it was so interesting that it kept my attention and me wanting to analyze what I was tasting and smelling. This wine did not diminish even after being open a week. For that reason it deserves this score. Extremely enjoyable! |

I believe this was the last vintage of this wine the winemaker made in honor of his daughter Sophie before his untimely death. His art lives on and has many years ahead of it; May he Rest In Peace. |

Sweet Texas ruby red grapefruit is the dominant note with distant secondary notes of peach and lemon. Very nice, if a bit more one-dimensional that I would prefer. |

I've been all over the Barmes Buecher range this summer and this is the one I keep going back to. A Gewurz with both the floral and citrus and full mouth feel. It is a feel good wine. Beautifully integrated. Some of my buds get put off by the floral and the tad of sweetness. But not me. I got a good amount of the 2010 based on this - I hope it is as good. |
