We'll just say it is mind blowing, and every bit as good as the 2001 Yquem. This is coming from two dessert wine fiends. Orange color, beautiful nose, searing acidity to balance the huge sweetness, ridiculous length. Knebel is certainly an amazing producer of German wines. Makes the Robert Weil Kiedricher Grafenberg TBA seem terrible. :( |

I like to serve some auslesen with apps or as an appertif, but not this one - it's pretty much dessert itself. Have a few more, which is exciting. Some would argue to leave alone for 10 years, but this is good now. Inevitably great later. Really, a ridiculous value, given how much the TBA is, how much botrytis this has, and how little of this is made (50 cases?!). |
