2005 Bodega O. Fournier Beta Crux

Valle de Uco Tempranillo Blend, Tempranillo more

This wine has a deep purple red color that glows around the edges. On the nose I get very creamy plum and black cherry. The fruit of this nose is intoxicating. There is also a slight band aid, oakiness with a hint of alcohol on the end. All of this is put together so nicely, and just creates the most mouth watering smell. On the palate there is dark fruits like plum and blueberry and a mineral rock flavor. On the mid palate I get tobacco leaf and chocolate with a pepper spice that finishes with more dark fruitiness that lasts for 30-40 seconds and leaves your mouth wanting more. This wine is thick and juicy and coats your palate completely. It is balanced and loaded with all levels of flavor. This may just be my favorite wine.

First let me say that the color of this wine is a gorgeous dark reddish purple. On the nose I get loads of dark chocolate and a little band aid with tons of ripe prunes and plums and black cherry. On the palate there is great ripe plum and cherry fruit with more chocolate and a spicy oakiness on the back end. The tannins are substantial and so is the mouthfeel. This wine is absolutely spectacular!!! Fruity and tannic and spicy and chocolately and amazing!

Ive heard that 2004 is one of the great years for Brunello and WOW!!! This is one incredible wine. I get tons of black cherry and strawberry raspberry jam, some licorice, and a hint of stink. The color is a dark red with a glow about it. The mouth feel is silky smooth with a substantial body. Beautiful dark cherry and cherry jam, pie flavors. The tannins are just right, not leaving your mouth too dry but strong enough to balance out the fruit. The flavors last and last on the finish, this wine makes you want to take another taste. WOW! all i can say is WOW!

ok imagine a dark chocolate covered blackberry blueberry licorice pie with a thin layer of vanilla buttercream...smoked...in a bottle!!! I have to say that were my palate is right now, not 6 months ago, and maybe not 6 months from now, this is the best wine I have ever had! On the nose I get strong dark fruits. There is a noticeable smokiness and a little oaky, licorice spice. On the palate I get tons of blackberry and plum and mid way through some spicy vanilla. On the finish there is more fruit and a hint of alcohol that is kept in check by the overall deliciousness of this wine. This fruit driven bombastic wine is were I am in my wine tastes. BRING IT ON!!!!!!!!

Dark inky purple in color. On the nose there is a lot going on. I get a wonderful blueberry pie with vanilla ice cream. There is strong chocolate and tobacco with black cherry and plum. Wow, The palate is where this wine shines. The mouth feel of this wine is incredible. It is thick and juicy and makes your mouth water. There is strong blueberry and black cherry that transitions to a creamy chocolate tobacco mid palate and finishes with just the right amount of oaky spice. Then as the wine lingers in your mouth for a good while there is a return of blueberry and cherry that makes you wanting more. I think this blend is right on!!! Delicious!

A beautiful dark garnet in color. The nose of this wine is incredible. There is tons of ripe dark cherry and plum with a blueberry cream pie component. There is also a chocolate, tobacco, oakiness that I love. On the palate there is loads of dark fruit. Black cherry and blueberry jaminess fill your mouth, then this wine transitions to a tobacco, chocolate, black pepper oak spice that balances out the fruit. This wine is silky smooth and there is a nice acid level that will pair it well with a lot of foods. This wines finish is never ending. There is more tobacco and a copper tingle with more of that thick and juicy fruit. This wine has a lot of oak flavors but they are never too overbearing because they are balanced out nicely by the fruit. The mouth feel of this wine is what I love the most. It is thick and viscous to the point that you just want to chew it and leaves your mouth wanting more. No doubt this is a BIG wine but that is where my palate is right now. This wine was suggested to me by a good friend and now I know the Mollydooker I traded with her was worth while. I will definitely be buying this wine again and again. Brilliant!!!

The color was a beautiful dark purple red. On the nose i got dark cherry and red cherry with a sweet candied strawberry. There was a noticeable buttery vanilla oak followed by a strong alcohol finish. On the palate there was the same fruit on the initial palate followed by oak and finishing with alcohol. I definitely think this wine was young. I allowed it to breath for quite some time to let some of the alcohol to calm down and the fruit to bloom but it didnt improve a whole lot. Over all I was not that impressed with this wine. At the price I paid Ive had much better wines at a quarter of the price. Dont get me wrong it was good but it was too young and i dont think it would have matured much more if at all over the next couple of years. This wine is more subtle and Bordeaux like compared to other Cali Cabs. Im glad I gave it a try and can now say Ive had a true Cali rockstar of a wine.

the color of this wine is dark and rich. on the nose im getting lots of fruit like cherry and strawberry and lots of chocolate and licorice, and tons of oak. on the initial palate i get nice strawberry and cherry fruit then it moves to a strong chocolate licorice mid palate and the it finishes with an incredible spiciness and huge amounts of oak splintering in my mouth. the mouth feel of this wine is the best part of this wine. it is the most silky, smooth, thick, chewy feeling. the longer this wine sat the more the fruit blossomed and the more the oak calmed down so it eventually balanced. at 16% im surprised there wasnt more heat but it was not noticeable. overall i like this wine but really i was expecting more.

This wine was dark red in color. The nose was filled with ripe red cherry and an earthy stink that combined for such a wonderful old world style. The palate initially delivered red cherry and raspberry then transitioned to an earthy barnyard stinky cheese. The finish was filled with more red fruit and nice firm tannins. All the wonderful layers this wine delivered came together perfectly to create an excellent wine. I love cotes du rhones and I really love this one.

The nose of this wine is filled with dark plum and cherry fruit as well as a chocolate oakiness and black pepper. The palate of this wine wine is quite good. There is tons of jammy dark fruit lik black cherry and plum. There is a very mineral coated chocolate oaky mid palate that finishes with black pepper spice and mor fruit. The alcohol is noticeable but it doesn't throw off the balance of this thick and juicy wine. I am a huge fan of Molly Dooker wines and I am a bit bias on the scores but this wine is wonderful.

This vineyard makes all of their wines gravity fed system with no pumps or filters, no added sugars, no sulfites, therefore these wines are crisp and clean and true to the grapes intended flavors. The color of this wine is a clear light golden. There is sediment due to no filtration but that all settles to the bottom. Out of all the Hudson valley white wines we tried, which was a lot, this wine was not sugary or fake, which made it one of my favorites. On the nose I dont get a whole lot, there is a hint of rice and pear with a slight rocky scent and some citrus as well. On the palate there is some serious acidity which I love and more of that pear citrus on the mid palate. On the finish there is more acidity and a lemon ice flavor. This wine is crisp and clean and tasty and I could probably drink three bottles with a meal and not get tired of it. I like this wine tremendously!

This wine is delicious. This wine is balanced and smooth and for the price one of the best wines out there. I love Rhone wines!!!

Deep dark purple red in color. On the nose I get ripe juicy fruit. Plum and blackberry with sour cherry are everywhere. There is also just the right amount of oak and a little earthiness to balance it out. On the palate there is tons of juicy ripe fruit. Black cherry and plum and even some blueberry for days. There is also some black licorice and cocoa. On the mid palate the oak shows up just enough to balance out the fruit. On the finish there are nice tannins leaving your mouth watering. I just love big fruity Australian wines. This is the first red white blend Ive had and I think its briliant!
