Huge amounts of heat on the nose and had a okay aroma to it. Some dried red fruits and remnants of vanilla and nutty flavors. On the palate, the wine was tart and acidic. Most of the fruit had dissipated and all that was left was a slight cedar and herbal taste. This is a wine that should have been drunk as soon as it was bottled.
Loosing a bit of it's punch, not the heavy hitter it once was, still there is plenty of bang and even a core of elegance. The blackberry is still prominent, with hints of blueberry, pomergrantit, spice and chocolate. I have always thought that the wines from MD at this level newer best consume young for their big in your face fruit, if you have them I would seriously consider consuming soon.
