2/11/2012 - HUSTLEDC wrote: 92 pointsDecanted for 2hrs. Nose of tobacco, vanilla and bright red fruit, all with a great depth to them. That depth of fruit jumps out in the mouth with the oak wrapped around it perfectly. The wine has great acidity which balances it's depth. A lovely long finish. This wine is really good now but will be fantastic in another 5 yrs, whether i manage to keep my hands off until then will be another matter. |

11/27/2010 - HUSTLEDC wrote: 92 pointsRemoving the cork from this wine made me think it had no chance, it had risen a little, mold on the top and really musty and pickled upon removal, but, just a few minutes to let that blow off and already a smell of sweetness began to creep out from beneath it. The wine poured into the glass a pale red/tawny colour with a nose of gentle sweet fruit and wet autmnal leaves. On the palate, more of that sweet fruit balanced by good acidity and almost fully resolved tannins with good length on the finish.Went superbly with a simple roast pheasant. Very enjoyable. |

12/11/2010 - HUSTLEDC wrote: 92 pointsDecanted for just 20 mins. This wine poured a much deeper, darker red than I had imagined it would, a real depth to it's colour. It's nose still oozing forest fruits and leather, cased in a gently sweet and polished oak. The fruit is still coming through on the palate, along with that gentle sweetness. The acidity is balanced and refreshing and the tannins are now very well integrated. Good length on the finish. It's not overly complex, but seriously enjoyable. Great bottle. |

2/12/2012 - HUSTLEDC wrote: 92 pointsDark ruby in the glass. Gorgeous smokey nose with black fruits and slightly herbacious. A mix of black/red fruits in the mouth with a very nice, vibrant acidity cutting through the depth of the nose. Cherry, black current, herbs, licorice, black olive, medium weight in the mouth and a nice freshness to it. Nicely integrated tannins, very reasonable length finish. Drinking well now and will no doubt improve further yet. |

7/30/2011 - HUSTLEDC wrote: 92 pointsDrinking very well right now. 45 min decant. Deep, dark red in colour. Big nose of raspberries, blueberries and spice. Use of oak is well judged, big, but in balance with the wine. Drinks as it's nose suggests with more of the fruit, concentrated but clean, it has sweetness and a great depth of flavour with a long smooth finish. |

9/30/2015 - HUSTLEDC wrote: 91 pointsCherry red in colour, now fading to the edges. Solid Pinot punch on the nose, slightly exotic. Good crunchy red cherry/raspberry fruit with dry but balanced tannins. Lovely mouth feel and good finish. Superb value and drinking great right now. |

1/5/2015 - HUSTLEDC wrote: 91 pointsColour very much bricking now. Nose of leather and tobacco leaf sweetness with an exotic touch of incense. This exotic note lasts onto the palate, which has a good amount of cherry fruit, good acidity, providing balance. Tannins are there, giving an essential grip to the wine, but they have a gentleness to them now. Really good and interesting bottle for the money, will buy again. |

4/10/2010 - HUSTLEDC wrote: 91 pointsVibrant ruby in colour, decanted for just over 2hrs. Nose of dark fruits and nicely integrated oak, slightly earthy. On the palate, more obvious dark fruit with the oak giving a generous depth to the wine that is kept in balance with a well rounded amount of acidity. The tannins are quite soft and the finish is of good length. Will hopefully gain more complexity with age, still very much early day's. |

8/7/2010 - HUSTLEDC wrote: 91 pointsBricking heavily to the edges, this wine is certainly showing some age through its colour. A tone of polish on the nose with a slightly distant fruit and a lick of mint and oak. Very plum fruit on the palate with a gentle caramelised sweetness underscoring, tannins fully integrated and a very reasonable damson finish that has a a good edge of acidity to it. A very enjoyable wine. |

10/4/2009 - HUSTLEDC wrote: 91 pointsWhoa! This wine is seriously dark in colour, an almost black core fading just to the outer edges of the glass to black cherry. The nose strikes almost as hard as the colour, deep smokey blackberry, black olive, herbs and pepper. On the palate that fruit really comes through wrapped in more of that smoke and herb finally giving way to a peppery dryness that makes you want to go back for more. Its a balanced wine with well integrated acidity and a reasonable finish, drinking very well now and should be good for a few years yet. |

2/19/2011 - HUSTLEDC wrote: 91 pointsDecanted for about 45 mins. Dark ruby in colour, but medium/light in body. Gorgeous nose of fresh cherry fruit, with a hint of herbs. In the mouth this is nice and lively, with more of that fruit and freshness. It starts of feeling quite well rounded through it's core, with the tannins sitting around it like a glove, with a very gentle sweetness to the fruit, given depth from notes of tobacco and herbs, also slightly floral, giving way to a savoury finish, where these tannins close around it giving a dry finish of good length. This is really good right now and will be very interesting for a long while yet. |

10/24/2010 - HUSTLEDC wrote: 91 pointsThis was a real suprise. Dark red in colour and medium/light bodied. It has a very Bordeaux nose about it with a plum & blackcurrant nose, tobacco and cedar wood also. On the palate it is suprisingly light in body and texture but with really juicy plum fruit and depth given from it's time in oak.A savoury soy note also present. The tannins have integrated very well, with a gentle grip, and the finish is long and refreshing. A really good find. |

1/29/2012 - HUSTLEDC wrote: 91 pointsA good depth of garnet still, fading to the edges. Decanted for 30 mins. Initially, the nose was predominantly vegetal, with a slightly spicy celeriac/mushroom edge to it, but with another 30 mins this started to really open up and an amount of fruit developed to underpin these aromas. Medium palate with a suprising amount of plum and blackberry fruit to it. Slightly meaty with a touch of peppery, earthy spice. Very good acidity, tannins almost fully resolved. This has a very good length finish on it. |

10/23/2010 - HUSTLEDC wrote: 91 pointsGarnet in colour with a medium bodied consistency. The nose is very classic blackberry/currant with cedar wood and graphite, but, with a gentle sweetness to it. The palate is the same, the fruit is prominent, with well balanced french oak, it has good acidity, but also that obvious sweetness to the fruit and slightly savoury. Tannins seem well integrated, although not fully and a good finish. Drinking well now with food and still with time ahead of it. |

Good depth of flavour and acidity, definite mineral edge to it. I wouldn't call it great value for money but none the less very enjoyable. |

3/29/2013 - HUSTLEDC Likes this wine: 90 pointsThis wine is still holding up very well. A bunch of mixed fruits, blackberry, blueberry and raspberry with a well rounded amount of oak. Tannins are still present, but softening. Well judged acidity and a long finish make this a great value wine for the money. Wish I still had a few more bottles. |

2003 Chateau MusarBekaa Valley Red Blend more |
1/30/2011 - HUSTLEDC wrote: 90 pointsFairly light bodied, black cherry/red in colour. An enticing nose of blackberry, black cherry, cigar box, all with that slightly exotic Musar edge. Light in the mouth, with more of that black cherry fruit. Good strong acidity balances the gentle sweetness of the fruit, a touch of spice and soap on the exit, tannins that are still quite prominent at the moment. All is very good with this right now, so try one if you have a few, otherwise, hold on for now, it will only get better. |

10/16/2009 - HUSTLEDC wrote: 90 pointsPale gold in colour. Toasty, buttery nose that follows through on the palate with it's richness and a good balance of fruit. Slightly oily mouth feel that gives way then to a slightly dry hazlenut flavour before being lifted back up and being book ended by that toastiness again. Good length finish. Very good value bottle that may not be fashionable right now, but then who wants to have there taste buds dictated to? |

3/8/2014 - HUSTLEDC Likes this wine: 90 pointsDeep extraction of colour and nose of plum, cherry and potpourri. 62% Sangiovese gives this wine a good backbone and interesting structure, whilst the Shiraz is fleshy and jammy, but in good balance. Slightly exotic touch of oak which rounds it out nicely. |
