Deep, dark red fruits on the nose with a fair bit of sweetness and just a touch of vanilla and rose perfume. Feeling a touch dried out on the palate, with some raisining, this is now starting to feel quite like an aged Rivesaltes ambré vin doux naturel, something which the 16% alcohol does nothing to dispel. This is the first 16% abv, ten year old Zweigelt rosé that I've ever had. Not unpleasant, but certainly a bit bonkers. Somewhere between rosé amarone, Croft Pink and a southern French vin doux naturel. |
