  • 2022 Kelley Fox Wines Pinot Noir Carter Vineyard

PnP, consumed over 3 hours. Appearance: Clear, pale-medium ruby. Nose: Clean, medium intensity with developing aromas of fresh red fruit - raspberry and pomegranate with hints of stems and baking spice. Palate: Dry, medium acid, medium tannin shows a little youthful grippiness, medium body, medium+ intensity, 13.0% abv with developing flavors of sweet pomegranate, raspberry, and baking spice with a medium+ finish.

    Balance: Excellent-Outstanding
    Length: Excellent
    Intensity: Excellent
    Complexity: Very Good-Excellent

Showing great purity of fruit with excellent intensity and length, quite youthful at the moment, needs 2-3 years and should drink well for 5+ thereafter.

  • 2019 Greystone / Grey's Peak Pinot Noir

Consumed over 2 hours. Appearance: Clear, medium ruby-garnet with light edge clouding - appears surprisingly aged. Nose: Clean, medium intensity with developing aromas of cranberry, cola, brown sugar, and Asian spice. Palate: Dry, medium acid, medium tannin, medium body, medium+ intensity, 14.0% abv with developing flavors of cranberry, cola, and Asian spice with a medium+ finish.

    Balance: Excellent
    Length: Excellent
    Intensity: Excellent
    Complexity: Very Good-Excellent

Much more youthful on the palate than it appears visually, this is an excellent example of Waipara Pinot Noir - love the cranberry-cola thing going on here. Drinking well upon opening today, will likely drink well over next 3-5 years.

Palate: Dry, medium acid, medium+ intensity, medium+ body, 12.75% abv with developing flavors of green apple, pear, and licorice with a medium+ finish.

    Balance: Excellent-Outstanding

    Complexity: Very Good-Excellent

My first Morgen Long Chardonnay and I'm impressed. Showing exceptional balance with great intensity and length - still very youthful with bright fruit and zesty notes. Should evolve nicely over next 2-4 years and drink well for 5+ years beyond.
