Almost identical to Casillero del Diablo Cabernet, but for a third of the price. Not the greatest wine, but a very good value.

Aired for half an hour before drinking. Brooding dark fruits with a distinct herbal lift on the nose. Silky tannins, a medium palette and finishes long. In short - beautiful!

Sweet blackcurrant and dusty fruit with violet floral aromas. The palate is sweet and spicy, quite one dimensional and uncomplicated but enjoyable.

Slightly jammy but concentrated green pepper Cabernet fruit. Shows some nice cedary oak. On the sweeter side of things but has enough bite in it to please. Bags of flavour and good value. 87

The bottle was in like new condition with original cellophane wrapper and great fill. Cork was pretty well soaked through and both nose and palate were pretty mute on opening. The wine was a clear and deep violet, much different than the late 90's Cali Cab served with it. As it came up to temp and got a bit of air it revealed dusty tobacco and pepper on a nice soft structure. Unfortunately it didn't last very long and faded towards the end of the lunch.

Definitely on the downward slope, but an interesting look at an old bottle of 12.4% Chilean cab that turned out a nice pairing with the paella at Olympic Provisions.

Bought this for cooking. Not terrible for the price point. Very sweet, low acid with lots of oak chips. If you drink it on its own it is fine. Just don't drink it before a Brunello.

How do you say "plonk" in Spanish? This is awful. It was sour with no structure. Someone brought a bottle to a New Year's party. I had to quietly disappear to the bathroom so I could pour it out and wash my glass.

We took a 1.5L bottle of this to a New Year's Eve gathering with friends so the tasting notes are abreviated and from memory. We decanted this into two carafes and allowed 50 minutes breathing time before returning it to the original bottle and partially re-corking for transport to the party.
Nose: Modest fruit.
Color: Deep garnet...nice color.
Body: Medium
Taste: Some modest fruit initially followed by very subtle structure. Nothing extraordinary.
Finish: MOdest duration, no off-notes.
Overall: We enjoyed the 2007 vintage of this offering a lot and were disappointed by this (2009) vintage. However, at this price point ($7.99 for the big 1.5L bottle at Total Wine and More) it remains a fair QPR for an easy sipper. The 2007 vintage was much better, though. We'll avoid buying the 2009 vintage but monitor future vintages when they're released.

Great QPR. Quite aromatic, with flavors of plum and cherry. Not a whole lot of structure, but easy drinking. The finish is short but not unpleasant. Works well with food, although it isn't as dry as you'd expect from an 85% cab wine.

Elegant and fresh red and blue berries with a touch of floral and toasted oak in the undertones. Well balanced nose. Rich and fresh palate. Good density and power in the full-bodied mid-palate. Nice transitions from entry to finish which has some chewy tannins for aging. Decant for an hour if you are drinking now.

가성비는 애매.
향에서는 tobacco, raspberry 올라오고 맛은 상당히 새콤달콤해서 맛이 없다는 느낌이 안 든다.

Dark, ruby red colour.

Direct, intense nose with dark fruit (blackberrys, blueberrys, cassis) vanilla and licorice. But there is also a green touch of sligthly bitter herbs.

Mediumbodied, fruity - but not jammy - and straight forward taste of ripe dark berries with a hint of sweet chocolate at the end. Not bad at all.

Blackberry, blueberry on nose and palate. Good balance, mouthfeel and length - a great wine for casual drinking, barbecues, midweek meals.... a simple, straightforward wine but tremendous quality and value for the price, especially when on 'special offer' in UK. Always good next day, or even after 2 days. Very even quality from year to year.
