2/24/2018 - MicklethePickle Likes this wine: 90 pointsOpened last night, and then drunk the next day with Bruce and Matt, my neighbor, at home late this afternoon. My note reflects what I remember most from it the day after drinking. Color was relatively light, and the palate had good fruit and a dusty minerality that suggested more bottle age would really make this blossom. Even now, the nose is extremely pretty, fragrant with light cherries, roses, and red fruit. If the flavor ever reaches the heights of the nose, this can be special. 4-13-15-8: 90/100 |

7/15/2018 - MicklethePickle Likes this wine: 89 pointsOpened last night. As true of the previous bottle I had of this wine, the charm is mostly in the nose. Very fragrant with rose petals and light cherry. Very charming. Palate is relatively tight but not unattractive. This could probably use a little more time to come out of its shell, but quite drinkable at this young age. 4-12-15-8: 89/100 |

Nose initially was very tertiary was earthy and meaty with little fruit over time became funky then woody with finally some fruit coming out in the last two hours with cranberry and raspberry complimented by some floral notes. Tastes were largely the same not very acidic, not tannic, moderate finish. Thought about dumping half way through but glad I didn’t, bottle was clearly prematurely oxidized (cork looked pristine) but still provided some pleasure after being open for a few hours. Monopole |

4/3/2022 - MicklethePickle Likes this wine: 89 pointsVery light in color. On the delicate side, with rose petal aromas and light cherry flavors. Surprisingly long finish. Sneaky good. 4-12-15-8: 89/100. |

6/4/2022 - HowardNZ Likes this wine: 90 pointsBrief notes on wines at Noble Rot with Thierry, Mark and the two Andrews (Wellington, NZ): Cloudy looking. A musky, funky, earthy bouquet with freshly cut green, and dried, herbs, suggesting a cool site and vintage. On palate, robust, not at all elegant. Chewy tannins and a little rustic but nonetheless enjoyable. Damp soil, dry and wet garrigue, cherries, black tea and slatey minerals. Lighter bodied. Savoury but fairly linear, lacking a little fruit and some flavour complexity and nuance. I really doubt it will improve from here, drink out until about 2028. |

2/11/2021 - Château de Farmer Likes this wine: 92 pointsFelt like we caught a steal on this WineBid bottle. No indication of any storage issues and the maturity was just perfect. Some orange zest notes in addition to the usual. Light bodied but some firmness and tannins holding it together. A very solid village level. |

11/19/2016 - PanosKakaviatos Likes this wine: 90 pointsTasting Gevrey Chambertin 2015 in Burgundy (Roi Chambertin, Gevrey Chambertin): Tasted after Bruno Clair and a comparative let down. The dry raisin aspects were more prominent on the nose. Although the palate was smooth and savory, it seemed just a bit warmer overall. For lovers of acidity (like me), I was not so enthralled, in spite of a certain decadent charm. |

10/8/2018 - Eric Guido wrote: 90 pointsThe nose was dark and spicy, showing masses of ripe cherry offset by a mix of confectionary spice, brown sugar, burnt orange peel, and exotic floral tones, On the palate, I found soft, silky textures with ripe spiced cherry offset by citrus-infused minerals and brisk acids. The finish was long with saturating black cherry, lingering spice, zesty acids and fine tannin. Unfortunately, this came across as too spicy, sweet and ripe fruit-forward for my tastes. |

3/6/2020 - pfisher17 Likes this wine: 95 pointsAmazing out of the gate. Didn't need decanting, just a few minutes of air. Will benefit from time. Drink within the first 12 hours of opening as Day 2 lost a lot of the fruit and complexity. Fine tannins. Graphite. Nose is amazing. I smelled it more than drank it. |

11/18/2017 - Dale M wrote: 90 pointsNot decanted but opened 8 hrs. – served in a Riedel Pinot Extreme. Initial reaction was wow that is pretty legit Burg – great nose, full of wild raspberries, subtle smoky coal embers, and a very small sliver of barrel. Bright, spry, of and full of energy, undefined red fruits leave a very positive impression, seems more to come if given a few years sideways. Nice finish that leaves a slight saline taste. A really good deal at $28, and I bet you could find this for $25. |
