6/25/2016 - Phenol73 Likes this wine: 95 points(BBR Italy 2016) :: Expressive, powerful bouquet, still quite brooding and masculine. Dark cherry, some soil & clay, dried red petals, a hint of menthol. Mouthfeel is wonderfully fresh; excellent acidity, it dances lightly on the palate. |

4/29/2015 - Goldstone Likes this wine: 91 pointsHK Wine Society Tasting & Dinner: Mature Brunello, 1975-1998 (Langham Palace Hotel, Mongkok, Hong Kong): Transparent, jeweled, purple-hued crimson watery at the meniscus. Phenolic nose of nail varnish remover, black cherry, cocoa 100% black chocolate, still quite prominent oak. Palate is lovely acidic freshness, elegant and harmonious higher-toned black and red cherry. Very fresh and vivrant. Nicely elegant length and resonance on the finish. Excellent with food - beautiful with the Iberico park chop. |

4/29/2015 - Goldstone Likes this wine: 90 pointsHK Wine Society Tasting & Dinner: Mature Brunello, 1975-1998 (Langham Palace Hotel, Mongkok, Hong Kong): Tasted blind in a line-up of 12. Transparent and very young-looking red cherry colour. Nose of black cherry and oak, quite tight. Palate seemed very slightly corked, very dry, lots of fruit, powerful, muscular and quite heady. The bottle drank over dinner was better, perhaps because of a longer decant. |

12/9/2017 - ILarsen wrote: 94 pointsWe are doing a vertical tasting of 2005 - 2006 - 2007 and on the nose this was actually the favorite. On the palette this is also great - we get a very well integrated acidity - that gives this wine so much balance. There is fruit is cherries and red currant. We also got some animal taste boot on the nose and the palette. We are ending at 94, because everything just went together. |

The wine is drinking well and will be good for many years to come. |

I also think this wine will develop further. |

5/26/2018 - whitmanlholt Likes this wine: 93 pointsPopped and poured. This is a cherry-red wine that is starting to orange a bit and has some mild sediment at the end of the bottle. On the nose, I get cherry, herbs, bramble, and mushrooms — the nose is very nice; it is focused yet subtle. In the mouth, the wine is crisp, with fully-integrated tannins and solid red fruit. The finish leaves nice notes of sap and cherry syrup. Overall, this is in a great place and went great with some food. 93 points. |

6/4/2018 - Tim Heaton wrote: NRThe nose is glossy, loaded with candied red fruits. Despite this, the palate offers a surprisingly good amount of acidity. That said, I still find it pretty boring, rather simple. A decent value in the sphere of Riserva wines, but not something I'm drawn to today; should appeal to many, just not me. recommended to those that like the style. |

4/15/2019 - DFBW Likes this wine: 94 pointsFirst bottle out of the case of this Sesti Riserva. Gave it two hours in the bottle with the cork out and then another couple in a decanter as it's pretty young. Brick colouring in the glass - looks more like an aged Barolo than the darker coloured Brunello one expects. Amazing aroma - so much going on and and the wine tastes utterly delicious - surprisingly more mature than it is. Of course there is no hurry to drink this wine but it actually tastes great now and drinking great Brunello's when a little younger is not always a bad thing as I've waited a little too long on some. |

8/31/2019 - Weinberg Falls wrote: 92 pointsRich and intense nose similar to the Brunello, lavender, roses, cassis, cigar box and leather. Wonderfully full and layered palette that really evolved over the course of an hour that the bottle was open. Plum, cassis, raspberry. Smooth through the whole palette, raisiny, slightly liquorice secondary flavours. Really delicious. |

8/31/2019 - Weinberg Falls wrote: 96 pointsTasted at Il Giglio in Montalcino. Such a rich and complex nose. Ripe cherry, sea air, Bistecca alla Fiorentina cooking over woodchip embers. Meadow of wild flowers. Light-medium bodied and bright acidity on the palette. Fresh and lively, complex and ripe. Blueberry, cassis, raspberry, strawberry, plum - a masterful chorus of fruit. So delicate, so balanced. Elegant spiced lavender finish. I can still taste this, and my whole body seems sated from the wine. This was extraordinary. |

9/5/2019 - Weinberg Falls wrote: 91 pointsSignature Sangiovese blood red and clear. Tart cherry and earthy nose, slightly medicinal notes. Completely smooth and balanced on the palette (the balance is such a speciality of Sesti - they really do nail it in all of the wines I’ve tried). Bright red fruits and electric minerality on the tongue - there is a roundness here I think indicative of a warm year. Tingling cinnamon and graphite finish. 91-92 |
