Hint of brett initially, slight band-aid, but then developping into attractive aroma of dried flowers, cinnamon hearts, and a hint of new oak. Have read they use barriques depending on vintage, so not sure if this was a barrique year. This wine seems bigger than other Chinon/Bourgueil, and more akin to a BDX. Grippy in the mouth. Will certainly improve with age. |

I read given the ash in the soil and south facing vineyards, these can be dense and powerful, and while this was certainly leaning that way, it was still balanced. Preferred this vs the 01 Red Rock Terrace, which was quite different despite being only 60ft away. |
