Really nice. Opened around two hours before tasting. Still dark not much bricking. Nose is pure and ripe with good cassis and plum character. Palate more of the same, pure and balanced, with smooth tannins, juicy acidity and nice currant and plum finish. Overall, excellent, balanced and pure not showing a tonne of complexity but really nice.

From memory: decanted at a restaurant; improved with an hour of sipping. Sweet-tart Washington fruit and gone too soon with six on a bottle. My last of four.

Well-defined meniscus around the rim. Reticent nose, mostly balsamic and herb but a touch sweet, like sun-ripened fruit lurking. Fruit, herb, and then this beautiful minerality on the finish, as you would find in a Pessac-Leognan. Overall impression is quite smooth and enjoyable, with tannins and acidity only showing on the finish. From a mag.

Slow Od for a couple of hours, decanted for an hour, then recorked and brought to dinner. Very smooth, tannins fully integrated, a bit thin on the mid-palate, short finish. Great flavor but an uninteresting mouthfeel.

(Betz Family Winery Pere de Famille Columbia Valley) An incredibly aromatically fresh wine with spice, dark cherries, and red fruit. The palate is tightly coiled, packed full of tart, dry fruit flavors and firm tannins. Has an understated grace. This is one to lay down in the cellar. 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petit Verdot, and 8% Merlot. 66% Red Mountain, 18% Horse Heaven Hills, and 16% Yakima Valley.

This 13+ year old is drinking well. Integrated fruit flavors. Drink or hold.
