9/13/2022 - wabi47 Likes this wine: 90 pointsP/P: initially reticent nose except for some back of the closet; mixed red berry; not big (or complex at this point), but has some precision and elegance for a napa cab, albeit with real structure and fine tannins; opens up over an hour with more fruit but remains light on its feet--would have guessed young cooler climate high end cab. |

1/9/2022 - isaacjamesbaker wrote: 91 pointsRipe yellow color. The nose is lovely, with lemon bars and yellow apples, tossed with raw almond, hay, with chalky, flinty, salty notes. Medium-bodied, crisp, vibrant acidity frames the wine so nicely, and the wine has a pleasant, balanced creaminess. Lemon and pear fruit mix well with nuanced whipped honey and graham cracker, and these chalky, salty, mineral tones. A really vibrant and focused Chardonnay. Aged nine months in 25% new French oak. |

1/9/2022 - isaacjamesbaker wrote: 92 pointsDeep purple color. Aromas of plum cake and blackberry jam, over some nice smoky, savory tones (like a grilled steak over a campfire with plenty of cracked pepper). On the palate, the acidity is great, giving the wine such a vibrant streak throughout, and the tannins show grip and structure. Tart cherry and black currant fruit blend well with smoky, graphite, mineral, iron and roasted red pepper tones. Fresh, spicy, a lot of cool Old World vibes, but distinctly California, too. Includes 5% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc, aged 22 months in 50% new French oak. |

2/10/2022 - tlogan9 Likes this wine: 85 pointsDid a taste test with Casons comparing Fluffy to Silver Oak. For all practical purposes it was a draw. Both Pat and Carolyn liked Fluffy better. Has a lot of character. Aggressive on the palate but smooth to the swallow. |

12/10/2022 - PMTinfv Likes this wine: 92 pointsDelicious! Surprisingly delicate…soft and elegant; not a big Napa cab…don’t pair with a heavy steak type meal. In a great drinking window now, but I would let it go more than 5-7 years. Dark chocolate and red fruit nose with raspberry, black, and a little vanilla on the palate. If the finish was a little longer, an easy 93-94…let’s see how it develops over the net several years! |

1/9/2022 - isaacjamesbaker wrote: 92 pointsDeep ruby color. Lovely spice on the nose with pepper, paprika, anise and coffee, over top of cherries, wild raspberries and pomegranate fruit. Medium-bodied with lovely acidity and dusty tannins, this is such a lively wine with loads of savory tones. Crisp red fruit meets notes of bacon fat, mesquite and grilled steak. Spicy and floral with dusty minerals and earth tones that linger long on the finish. Fans of spicy, crisp Syrah, this one delivers complexity and depth for a very reasonable price. Includes 2% Petite Sirah, aged 20 months, this sees 13% new French and 11% new American oak. |

1/13/2024 - PMTinfv Likes this wine: 94 pointsDecanted and let breath for four hours. Big wine with a seductively soft mouthfeel. Aroma of fennel, some chocolate and coconut with flavors of plum, cranberry, and dark fruits. Excellent finish. Great drinking spot now with a decant and long breath, but has years of cellaring to go. I’ll likely hit my last bottle inside of the next 3-4 years. |

6/5/2021 - vino_per_tutti wrote: 87 pointsNot much improvement over first bottle. Again, aromatics are right on for Oakville Cab (blackberry, red cherry, plum and vanilla spice), but massively disappoints on the palate - too much oak, stemmy and green, and something sour on the finish. They pitch this as a baby Silver Oak, but this is nothing close. |
