Very fine and elegant, yet rich. Complex pear/apple aromas and flavours. Wonderful tension and good richness and complexity, albeit held tightly by the acid. Wonderful.

Classic Sancerre. Clear color. Nose is more restrained with some grass, cheese, and lees. Ripe apples. Little bitterness on the end (refreshing). Very good. Solid wine.

Popped and poured, natural cork. Really pleasant and typical nose of citrus and grass, with an herbal fleck here and there. The palate follows, not overtly fruit driven but still ripe with pink grapefruit, toasted pineapple, and some lychee, plenty of hay and green herbs. A slight creaminess balances the strong acid. The finish isn’t so long, but isn’t short either.

On the nose the wine is clean, with medium primary aroma intensity of citrus fruits, lemon, lemon zest, grapefruit, herbaceous.

On the palate the wine is dry, with medium plus acidity, medium alcohol, medium body, medium plus primary aroma intensity of white fruits, pear, tropical fruits, mango, apricot, floral notes, white flowers blossom.
Finish is long.

The wine is of a good quality overall, as it is showing good balance between fruit concentration and acidity.

The wine was quite youthful during the tasting, however showing quite clearly the style, and I think it is not very complex, mostly fruit driven, but the winemaking is very good here.

Soft yellow color with a bronze tint. Attractive nose of saline, lemon, melon. Beautifully crisp and expressive on the palate. Lemon, minerals, saline, a hint of green apple. Beautifully balanced acidity. Lingering and lovely finish, minerals, juicy lemon notes. Becomes rounder with air. A beautiful and classic Sancerre. Drink next 4 to 5 years.

Despite the warmer vintage, this shows lovely aromas of lemon zest, gooseberry, cut grass and stone that lead to a fresh, focused, Golden Delicious apple flavored palate that turns chalky on the finish.

I am not used to evaluating Sancerre. I opened this bottle at refrigerator temperature and slowly let it rise. Paired with grilled shrimp and potatoes with salad. A pleasure to drink and pair with this lightly grilled fare. I have to say, I did not get the grassy Sav Blanc character. A bit more full-bodied on the mid-palate .

Light yellow in color. Fragrant nose of lemon zest, melon and a lovely floral note. On the palate it is crisp yet rounded, stone fruits, lemon, pepper. An attractive oily quality to the mouthfeel. Muted tropical fruits on the midpalate. No grassiness at all. Beautiful balance. Acidity that ties everything together. Finishes long, long with subtle lemon notes. Exquisite. Drink next 3 years although it may last much longer. Mine won't make it to 3 years they are so good now. Perhaps the best vintage of this wine that I have tasted.

Generally love Gerard's Sancerres, including this entry level bottling, but this one feels a bit ponderous and lacks some typicity, to the point that I'm not sure I would pick this blind as a Sancerre or even Sauvignon Blanc. Very rounded nose and palate, with more tropical and melon notes than I would usually expect. It's not flabby, but it was better at cooler temps than as it warmed. Perhaps a function of the vintage, but not a great effort.
