Mostly citrus nose with faint strawberry flavor. Zesty acidity. Pleasant indistinct mid palate. Well made. Lacks old wines to add richness and creamy mouth feel. Top brut roses generally offer more red fruit and more brioche/biscuit flavors. Finish is adequate but not notable. Unclear if this could improve with age. It is a good wine but expensive for the quality (Louis de Sacy is cheaper, Cru only a few bucks more). On the domestic side, Gloria Ferrer vintage is also only a few bucks more and better. For more money Roederer Ermitage is excellent. Full disclosure on tastes ... my favorite easily affordable NV champagnes are Lancelot Royer Cv des Chevaliers, Clouet, and Bollinger. A little disappointing but had to try it. I'm not buying any more domestic except Ermitage.

    4/10/2016 11:26:00 PM - If you haven't already, you should try one or more of the Iron Horse sparklers before giving up on domestic bubbles.... my personal favorite is their Russian Cuvee.
