5/4/2024 - parkline_wine Likes this wine: 94 pointsWas perfectly late peak, no decant needed, great balance and smooth. Likely a 95 3-5 years ago, but taking a point off due to a slight slight decline evident in its staying power. |

9/5/2022 - rikipedia Likes this wine: 92 pointsAtkin 95+ Tasting Event (and dinner wines) (Strauss Auction, Cape Town (and Jo'burg)): A distinct garrigue presence is accompanied by hints of diesel and a touch of tar that opens to roasted herb, blackberry, and dried blackberry with an element of mineral towards graphite. |

5/1/2024 - Sanlucar Likes this wine: 91 pointsConfusingly; this tasted more like old-vine Zinfandel. The winemaking style is very old-world; it's from 100% Grenache (100 year old vines) and it has plenty of spice and burnt shrubbery, but it only expresses it's sweet fruit and unique old-vine Grenache distinction immediately upon opening. Decanted for 3 hours and within an hour, it converts into the old-vine Zinfandel; somewhat sappy, heavy bramble and pepper spice. |

4/30/2024 - Vinumming & Ahhing Likes this wine: 90 pointsReading Offline #1 - Alino's Thames Lido Dinner - Mixed Whites and Reds (The Thames Lido, Reading): Some redcurrant jelly and hints of raspberry ripple ice creaminess. Some roasting sweet chestnuts too. Palate sweet smoky and spicy. Some overripe plums and after some time hints of strawberry coulis. If this trio had been served blind I don't think it would have been called out as a 2003. |

4/1/2024 - VlgJeff Likes this wine: 95 pointsDecanted for one hour with lots of sediment -- standing the bottle upright two days before opening helped. The wine continued to open during the meal. A dark red color to the rim. Plenty of dark fruit (black cherry, blackberry, raspberry, currant), spice, and even a touch of black licorice on the medium plus bodied palate. No hints of cooked fruit or the 14.5% abv. Crisp and balancing acidity with well-integrated tannins. Hard to believe that this bruiser of a wine is 100% Grenache! Should continue to hold and delight for several years. |

4/24/2024 - Crunge Likes this wine: 96 pointsAmazing. I didn't get much on the nose even with swirling but the flavor... Fruit-forward cherries and raspberries with a hint of gravel underneath. No alcohol burn, tannins present but only if you asked to see them. Such perfect balance. PnP at cellar temp and paired with sous vide ribeye. My wife was equally impressed (with the wine, not me.) |

4/13/2024 - neilsforest wrote: NRThis has been a very problematic producer for this vintage. Decanted for c 1.5 hours. Again some rather unpleasant medicinal fumes taste. But got better as evening proceeded. Drunk alongside 2003 Clos des papes and 1999 Pegau Feter c 4 hours this wine became drinkable. In summary all 6 bottles have ranged from being undrinkable to very hard work. |

4/9/2024 - Erik Snel Likes this wine: 99 pointsAt holiday end 4,5 years ago, I bought this bottle at Pierre Ussiglio’s winery during a hit and run visit (still 1150 km’s to go). It was not easy to get through the Chateaneuf village because the folks were celebrating the ‘Veraison’. But I was happy to get some bottles, including these whites, knowing that these are not easy to get. It seems be now at it’s peak. Not complex, but fresh fruity, flowers, almonds and a lot of drinking pleasure. |

3/21/2024 - tedcholl Likes this wine: 97 pointsI've had several 2016 CdP and am very impressed with the vintage. This is the first Reserve I've seen. 100% Grenache. A monster of a wine. Bold, complex, with great depth and intensity of flavors. Very long finish. Very dark color. Fruits were rich and voluptuous. Cherry, blackberry, blueberry, earthy notes, smoke. Great paired with roasted goat! |
