2007 Radog Riesling

Santa Lucia Highlands more

Very nice aged Riesling. Light, toned-down fruit....maybe lighter fruit than it should be, but still very enjoyable. Light petrol notes on the finish, and what a smooth finish this wine has. Would buy again, if I didn't buy a case.

Community notes say 2012-2017, but I would drink sooner than later. Enjoy over the next year.

Methinks people are a little too hasty opening this one...it is blended as a "drink now," but I'd give it a little more time. Same grapes used in this wine as the acclaimed Stewart Cabernet Sauvignon Nomad.

Sour..No depth, no fruit, no nose. Very disappointed in this. I've had better Pinot at the $10 price point at Costco.

Tastes of spice, oak, and blackberry. Quite a nice surprise, very smooth and beautifully blended. Nice long finish with a taste of plum. Would not hesitate to serve this to guests. Impressed with Twisted Oak Winery between this wine and their Grenache.

Little heat on the nose, but no heat noticeable in the taste or finish. Light to medium tannins, tastes of light red fruit (which really shine through on the finish) and defiantly a hint of smoke. Not any depth to speak of, but a nice little wine from El Jefe.

*EDIT*--Original note above was written after first glass. After letting the wine open up for an hour, all I can say is WOW. Beautiful, smooth fruit. What a great, easy-going drinking wine. Must buy more....here's hoping there's a Woot 6-pack deal like there was on the *%#&@!

Disappointing the second time around. Nose stayed hot with alcohol over the 4 hour consumption, and by the end, the wine completely fell apart, displaying none of the delightful earthiness I loved from the first bottle I tried. May have to rethink purchasing any more of this.

Meh. Tried Louis and Georges. Maybe I'm just not a fan of the Gamay grape.

Maybe I got a bad bottle or something. On initial tasting, aroma of strawberries and cherries, however the finish lacked depth and was very flat. I let it decant for another hour. Wine was very "hot," with an overabundant alcohol taste that dominated whatever little actual flavor that was left. Horribly disappointing.

Best wine under $10 I've ever had. Great value for the price, and would still be an outstanding value at $15. Tastes of cherry and smoke. Enjoyed every minute of this bottle. I'll be buying a case.

Great value for the money, maybe another year in the cellar (2012) before drinking. Smooth for the most part, full bodied with rich tannins, with a wee bit of Malbec to round out the cab.

Light and fruity. Not great, not exceptionally good, but outstanding value at the $5.99 price point. Something to drink everyday without breaking the bank.

Light, fruity, earthy, hints of chocolate. Very enjoyable but nothing earth-shattering.
