Brought this to De Golden Spoon Restaurant to celebrate a birthday with my army buddies.

Dark purple in colour. Decanted for 30 mins before drinking. As always, this wine does not disappoint. Pumped up notes of ripe plums and berries, with a touch of toffee, and licorice.

One of the best QPR wines in the collection.

Opened this wine at Haidilao (Royal Square) to celebrate a mate's birthday.

Purplish in colour with notes of berries, ripe plums and black spices.

Like a young lady gracing the dinner, this wine is to be admired and envied. Exuding the positive vibes of youth and beauty, the charm and graciousness of this wine cannot be underestimated.

One of my favourite wines with excellent QPR.

Cheap Wine and no particular expectations that it would have lasted but actually showed in well shape.
Not overly complex but certainly woth the 30 AUD paid 12 years ago in Melbourne.

Brought this to Yan Palace for a farewell dinner with my colleagues.

Dark purple in colour, with notes of sweet plums, juicy, and a tingling black spice.

Wonderful.

Brought this to a wine appreciation workshop at The Panorama, organised by my colleague.

Mid to full body, with a well-built structure and good energy on the palate. Touch of spice and zest in the finish. Lovely wine.

Drank a bottle with my best friend at my wine cellar today with wings and nuggets from McDonald's.

Dark purple with wild violets, rich berries and ripe plums with a mild spice in the finish. Decanted for 20 minutes and the cream and vanilla notes evolved and complemented the food wonderfully.

A very good wine which can be drank on its own effortlessly or paired with finger food.

Opened a bottle at New Ubin Seafood (Zhong Shan Park) last night with my ex-colleagues from the MDIS days. We had foie gras egg with their signature rib-eye steak with fried rice and wedges.

Dark purple with a beautiful bouquet on the nose, coupled with ripe plums, berries, latte and a sweet vanilla infusion in the finish. A touch of dark spices reminds the drinker that this is unmistakably Shiraz, yet sensuous and luscious at the same time.

Smooth and long elegant finish. For a wine that is under S$40, this wine is punching way above its weight and is comparable to (or even better than) a lot of other wines in the higher price tiers.

This was a good Shiraz, full bodied and good tannins at this great price point. You could taste the wild berries, currant and some blueberries. The overall texture was smooth and with some aeration opened up nicely. I highly recommend a try.

Took to church. Second bottle of 3. This was a hot jammy mess. Green, alchohol and harsher tannins than the first (which was no wilting flower either.) It did get better after an hour of air, or maybe we just got drunker. Either way not my thing.

Retail $20. Under screwcap. 100% Shiraz. I am not familiar with this brand at all, but it comes from an importer who focuses on family-owned wineries and I am increasingly impressed with their portfolio. Australian Shiraz (Syrah) has taken a hit in popularity due in no small part to a certain large producer with a lightly colored extension of the rear end, which has been putting out a bunch of, well, not very good wine. This, however, is a delightful departure from that paradigm. Dark fruit and vanilla on the nose, with plenty of blackberry and plum on the palate along with some rather intense mocha and spice. Very nice.

Medium to light purple with minimal garnet. Raspberry cherry and spice with a hint of green. Palate is medium bright raspberry with cherry and spice. Medium acid and fine tannins with a long finish. Might try a 1 hour decanting.

I'm often on the lookout for nice value wine that provides simple, tasty happiness- this had some nice aspects, but fell a little behind in others.

Probably the best thing I can say is that it does feel like a real Cab Sauv- very dark purple fruit on the nose and palate, although it's really jammy and fairly hot a lot of the time. Some like bell pepper notes in their wines, but I rarely do, and they're present enough here to be distracting/unpalatable. Occaisonally the pepper would seem to fade away slightly and let the plummy fruit do the work, which was a welcome change, but it always came back. Little rubbery tones sometimes showed on the nose, kinda interesting, but didn't mesh well with the rest of the wine.

Not much in the way of tannins- the finish isn't bad, a little pinch of acidity sneaking in, leveling out the jammy fruit just a bit. On day two it felt quite tired and almost pruny, so I ended up drain pouring.

There are many worse, more confected wines out there at the grocery store maybe, but if you have access to wine shops, it's very easy to do better for $15. Still curious about their Shiraz though; I feel its easier to make it palatable at lower prices.

Pours a deep purple. Ripe plums, black currants, berries and baking spices on the nose. Full bodied with high alcohol and notes of plums, dark fruits, mint leaves and chocolate on the palate. Medium tannins which are very well integrated. Good quality example of a Barossa Shiraz at an attractive price.

Drank this at home with my spouse over lunch during the 1st day of the WFH and HBL. We ordered food from New Ubin Seafood; ribeye steak, potato wedges, beef fried rice, fried kailan, har cheong kai, and hokkien mee.

This wine continues to punch above its weight. Ash notes coupled with highly volatile alcohol and unripe red fruits.

Still drinking well even though it is supposedly past its window. A big jammy wine. Good if you like the style and I do when it is paired with my wife's spicy meatloaf. Definitely not for sipping or the faint of heart.

Ha, last tasting note on this is 8 years old, but I found a bottle in the bargain bin and took a chance. Sweet eucalyptus, smoky, spicy palate with plenty of candied fruit. I'd say this is drinking as well as ever. Not really my style, but it certainly aged respectably.

Clear medium ruby; clear medium nose of farmyard, soil, red cherries, red plums, cranberries and toast; developing nose; dry; medium plus acidity; medium tannins; high alcohol; medium body; medium flavour intensity; pfn with addition of sour cherries and cocoa; medium finish - a little sour; acceptable quality; drink now, not suitable for future aging; too thin, funky and sour to enjoy

Brought to a friend's place for Christmas gathering.

Dark purple in colour with notes of rich plums, blackberries, some chocolate and coffee. This is a basic, entry-level wine but there is nothing basic or entry-level about this wine. Imposing without overpowering, poignant but not overwhelming. Rounded and smooth and delivered above its price point.

This is a wine which has consistently delivered pleasure during Christmas and New Year parties.
