Primary fruit, chewy. Very good. Still clear tannins. Will probably last many years yet.

Am not the biggest fan of NZ/Aus Pinot Noir, so don’t be concerned by my somewhat tepid review.

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour with friends while playing pool. The 2022 pours a straw color with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of white tree flowers, mangosteen, dragon fruit, green apple, lanolin, and limestone minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. This is a bright and vibrant expression of Chenin Blanc and I’m here for it. Drink now to enjoy the energy and verve though, I’m sure this would age well too.

Less aromatic than previous vintages. Still some melon on the nose, but not the full tropical fruits of the past. A touch of metallic on the palate. But still a very good wine, and a pleasure to drink

Had in Auckland at Fish, w octopus and nz snapper. Nose is floral w prominent Asian pear. Palate is pear w tropical fruits. Smooth mouth feel. Perfect dinner match for person who is not a Sauvignon blanc fan. Good wine.

New Zealand London Annual Trade Tasting (Lindley Hall, Royal Horticultural Halls): Grown across the Estate with vines planted in the Waenga silty loam soils of lower terraces and the more gravelly Lochar sandy loams of the blocks beside the winery. Certified Organic since 2021.
Hand-harvested fruit was ambient-soaked for four to five days before fermentation began. Gentle, selective timing of hand-plunging and pump overs during fermentation. Approximately 15% whole-bunch clusters were included in some of the ferments. 15 months in French oak. 14%

Nose: Boquete of flowers, yeast, citrus peel, plum, red fruit, smells like a spring forest mixed with a baking fruit crumble.

Palate: citrus, baking spice, French oak wood, sour cherries, plum, savoury, tastes like hiking through a fruit orchard in France.

Finish: Warm, acidic, baking spice, wood, French oak finish is distinct.

Light to medium weight, restrained earthy black and blue fruit, real salinity, a bit of char, average acidity, and soft tannins. Unfortunately, the reduction gives a hardness to the finish. This was one of the most interesting Pinots we’ve tasted here thus far. It has a distinctly understated Old World style and has the potential for brilliance with more aging, but only if the sulfur releases its iron fisted grip on the wine.

Delicious pinot from Central Otago. Mostly young with hints of aged characters developing.
Appearance: Ruby
Nose: Earthy. Rose petals. Butterscotch.
Palate: Gooseberries. Strawberries. Raspberries. Dark plum. Dark cherries, Tomato vine. Wood. Mushrooms. Rose petals. Moderate tannin. Firm acid. Good length.
Personality: Feminine extroverted
Technical: Half bottle. Riedel Bordeaux glass. Temp 14-16 deg C. Best at 45 mins. NS

Blinded this on my brother and sister. Both immediately were thinking Pinot Noir and, when they saw the screwcap, agreed on New Zealand! Both really thought this to be high quality.
In any case, this reinforces my thoughts that this has turned the corner and is evolving into a very good Pinot. The structure has softened a bit and is now more enjoyable.

True to its homeland this is as grassy field upfront as one can expect from New Zealand. Super high acidity and a tartness that made my left eye quiver. Still decent but needs to settle. Best to wait 3 years.

A mix of stone and tropical fruits on both the nose and the palate. Think peach and pineapple. Not overpowering in any way. Very enjoyable - and this is from someone who avoids Sauvignon Blanc typically.
