PnP. Needs about 30-45 minutes to open. Dark cherry, some blood orange, loam and earth underneath the fruit. Medium body, medium acidity (leaning medium+), still some moderate tannins in the finish. Darker fruit, a lot of intensity and depth. Shows that deeper, richer Ribbon Ridge character. Seems like this is really just coming into its plateau of maturity and should hold for at least another five years. I think the AVA and single vineyard wines by Ayres are under appreciated. This was last bottle of the 2015, but I'm glad I've got some more recent vintages of this bottling. This bottle makes me think this should be on my list of producers I buy every vintage.

Medium deep ruby, but not quite opaque - there’s seems to be a good amount of extraction here. On pnp, just a hint of darker red fruit, dusty earth, and leafiness. After 30 mins in the glass, dark cherries, damp forest floor, a tiny hint of menthol, and some secondary notes of vanilla and spicy. The palate hits with ripe red fruit up front but quickly transitions into earthy mushrooms. There’s good acidity throughout the palate. Overall, an earthier example of OR Pinot, especially given its relative youth.

PnP. I've always been a big fan of Ayres. The Perspective cuvee is their Ribbon Ridge AVA wine made from some estate fruit as well as fruit from neighboring vineyards. But it has that classic Ribbon Ridge profile with its bigger, richer character, and darker fruit which can seem fairly tight and closed when its younger. This is true to style. It has a lot of loamy, earthy dark cherry notes, some forest floor, and a bit of brown spice. It took about an hour to open and still has a lot of youthful character to it. But this is really showing well now. This is my last bottle, but if I had more, I'd say drink now or hold for another 3-4+ years. This is well done and really shows that Ribbon Ridge character.

Medium to medium-dark reddish garnet in color with slight clearing at the edges. Full, forward & aromatic nose of ripe cherries, blueberries & strawberries with overtones of floral notes of violets, spices, earthy/dusty notes, tea, minerals & a slight hint of vanilla/oak in the background. Medium bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of cherries, blueberries & mulberries with spices, minerals & a slight hint of vanilla/oak. Drinks quite well at present but at 10 years of age, it is close to or at its peak of development. Although it should hold here for a few more years, I doubt any further development will occur from additional aging.

Needs some time— on first opening, this tasted great, but the acidity quickly dominated the wine after a very short period of being open.

Presents as a couple years past peak drinking, but no question there’s some quality here. Typical 2012 restrained fruit personality, tons of the Ribbon Ridge brown spice, molasses, and an astringent finish that’s kinda hollow in terms of fruit at this stage—if only you could turn back the clock.

Medium-dark reddish garnet in color with no signs of aging. Full, forward & aromatic nose of ripe cherries, blueberries & strawberries with overtones of floral notes of violets & spice notes, sandalwood, earthy/dusty, tea, cola, minerals & a subtle hint of oak/vanilla in the background. Medium bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of cherries, blueberries & plums with spices, cola, herbs, minerals & a hint of oak/vanilla. Drinks weel at present & at 12 years of age it is close to or at its peak of development. Although it may hold here for a few more years, I doubt any further development would occur from additional aging. A lovely Oregon Pinot which has aged quite well.

Barnyard funk on the nose and this is foreshadowing of how this is all about the ag life... In the mouth: wet grass, herbal and mineral/stone. Still zippy in a good way as the acid keeps things rolling. Medium dry mouthfeel and the finish does show fruit like cherry and strawberry. Experience an Oregon field in the rain and you get this in your glass.

I'm amazed it is tasting this good.

Drink up, this is nearing it's end. The flavors have really merged together. The fruit and oak are not defined and the tannins are muted. Long dry finish.

The last time I tasted this wine was four years ago. I obviously enjoyed this bottle more than the last because the same notes don’t apply. There is some WV earthy funk here. Not as much as I usually like but it’s there. Mature cherry and blackberry notes. Nice wine.

Yet again, OR Pinot can age. This was far from dead. Not spunky by any means, but not flappy nor over the hill either.

very nice fruit typical of the great '21 vintage but it seems to fade on the finish in a slightly bitter finale. i was a bit disappointed and perhaps this just need more time in bottle.

Not real complex, simple notes of oak, cherry and cranberry. Tannins are quite lively but I don't think the fruit will hang on much longer.
