5/7/2024 - VDLT Wine Likes this wine: NRSo much better than the recent Coravin taste. A full glass and extended aeration made a huge difference. Still structured and tannic but the fruit is prevalent and impressive. Needs food as well. |

5/7/2024 - CWilliam wrote: 93 pointsDecanted and paired with a bison strip steak. Brown/red color. On nose, tobacco, sweet / sour cherry and tomato paste. On palate, medium+ body, medium+ acidity, medium tannins and very long finish. Palate similar to nose ex no tomato paste - great sweet / savory combination. Very enjoyable. Would buy again. 93-94 range. |

8/27/2023 - VDLT Wine Likes this wine: NRA couple of hours in the decanter allowed the pure fruit to emerge and out outclass the considerable structure…for a while. Eventually, things starting setting down. An impressive young Brunello with silky tannins and a bright future. |

7/16/2023 - The Wine Monkeys Likes this wine: 90 pointsPleasantly surprised by this one. Since the last note was almost a decade ago I wasn’t expecting much but it was very much alive. Primarily secondary notes of earth and spice with some tart fruit. Took a minute to open up, medium integrated finish. Lovely. |

4/11/2022 - caesar77 Likes this wine: 90 pointsRuby with dark red brick edge. Muted nose of red berries, sweet earth and violets. On the palate: tart cherries, sweet tobacco and wood spice. Finish is medium length with dry tannins that linger longer than the fruit. This wine may just need a little more time in the cellar. |

Normally I agree with BigDaddy on Brunnelo but I think this needs more time to soften the puckering tannins. Ok with baked penne and meat sauce but needs food now. Will wait a couple of years for next bottle. 3.6 stars. |

Hard to rate it now as it's quite closed, but shows some attractive expressions - some iron, and Christmas cake, savory notes. Will try and forget about the rest of the bottles for a few years. |

12/7/2020 - Javachip Likes this wine: 91 pointsAllowed to breathe in glass 1 hour. Clear deep garnet-blood red color. Classic bouquet of dark cherries, boysenberries and their liqueurs; leather, stony soil, baking spices, hints of tobacco, balsamic, and dried jerky. Similar on the palate, seamless, pleasantly tart, medium-full body, nice balance, chalky grippy tannins, lingering finish. Outstanding. |

6/16/2020 - jeffreylubowski Likes this wine: 91 points2012 wasnt as hot as 2011 and not nearly as touted as 2010 or 2013 but every one I've tried has been a very nice moderate vintage bottle. Soft and supple and delicate. Easy to like. This was similar to the 2009 but not as ripe. Light cherry and Roses and some barnyard and just so Italian. Not a showstopper but if you like italian wine how could you not like this? |
