...learning experience.... Needs LONG decant/opening. Only after 6 hours double decant from a magnum was it ready (dead as a dodo when cork pulled). At that point it was showing very nice secondary notes. I would really NOT have predicted that when I tasted it as a fruit bomb en primeur. Good example of Haut Medoc, but not behaving like an average 2009 wine.

10/14/2022 11:51:00 AM - Thanks for the kind words, my friend. Our home made it through the hurricane just fine, but my office building in downtown Naples was flooded, so we are dealing with that cleanup. Sounds like you have been drinking HB a LOT longer than we have! I really do enjoy these 'so called' lesser Chateau that the true wine snobs would never lower themselves to drinking. As long as they continue doing that, the prices for you and I will stay within reason! Cheers!

Entry level (J Trimbach hates it if one says this) but really good. 16 was a VG year of course. Not for keeping.

Little to add to my earlier note 4 years ago. It is continuing on a Peter Pan trajectory. Spectacularly light and delicious.
