In beautiful shape just now, but definitely needs an hour or more in the decanter as the previous review said (and thank you for that advice). Great length, very together and rounded. Has at least 5 more years ahead of it and likely more.

This was ultra green and vegetal... I feel like I was chewing on the stems... vintage effect? I guess this is a baby and will need much more time but not sure which direction this will go... definitely a different style of winemaking within the Douro.

Nicely integrated and still quite primary. Blackberry, touches of tobacco, rubber, and maybe a little balsamic. Probably would have guessed a Bordeaux blend with Sangiovese on blind. Fully integrated tannins, but still structured. Really delicious. 92.

Decanted 30 minutes. Medium-dark purple-ruby. Smelled black fruit: blackberries, cherry, then leather, gravel, vanilla; the taste reprised. Big body balanced by acid and tannin, intense, finishes medium and fruity. Good stuff.

Requires a good decant, an hour we would say before serving. This is not a PnP wine and the second bottle we had of this on the day that was not decanted was clearly a lot more aggressive and sharp . So please decant.
Post the decant the wine relaxed, smooths out and has a lovely round, fleshy texture. We actually tasted this blind and went for tempranillo from Ribera del Duero . We should have picked the Portuguese link however as this had this porty edge to the fruit, from the heat and ripeness that adds that porty edge. Good wine solid 92-93 but please decant.

Full purple-black. Muted nose of blackcurrant and cedar, touch of tar. Oak, blackcurrant, pine and a little raspberry flavour. Feels like it will improve with longer decant and/or bottle age.

Deep purple color. The nose exudes a warm, wintry, but inviting host of currant jam, plum cake, fig paste, along with savory broth and pepper, dried violets, a cool leathery kick, and some graphite and minerals. The palate is grippy but suave with zippy acidity and a concentrated but fresh appeal. Flavors of plums, currant and fig paste, and tart blueberry. Add in some smoky earth, tar, leather, black pepper, anise, along with black tea and nuanced oak. This is juicy, tangy, and complex, and should also age well. Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca with small amounts of Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca, Sousão, and Tinta Cão.

Bright purple color. The nose shows tangy red and black currants and cherries and a whole lot of savory/spicy tones like: warm rocks, potting soil, sage and anise, oregano, black pepper. Fresh and ripe on the palate with chewy but structured tannins and moderating acidity. The plum, red and black cherry, and roasted fig fruit is deep and tangy. Notes of chewing tobacco, scorched earth, graphite, and dark chocolate shavings add complexity. For me, this is a perennial winner both for its quality and value. A classic Portuguese blend of Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca, and Touriga Franca.

Deep ruby colour. Medium and developing nose with blackberry, blueberry, dark plum, tobacco, licorice, vanilla and cinnamon. Medium taste of blackberry, blueberry, dark plum, tobacco, licorice and vanilla. Long and dry finish. High acidity. Medium tannins. Full body. A very good Douro Red. Drink now or over the next seven years. Goes well with beef or lamb.

Interesting wine. No idea of the variety here but had a rather black and blue fruit profile, sandy but polished tannins and a little acidic crunch on the palate. Only small sample. Had a bdx-like profile

"Chryseia" is the project of Bruno Prats (former owner of Cos d'Estournel) and the Symington port family (Warre's, Dow's, Graham's, Cockburn's).

deep purple, opaque and with appreciable body in the glass. initially reticent, it shows an elegant nose where rose petals and violets swirl along the plum, blue fruit, tobacco and cedar aromas. quite tight, grippy and fresh, it takes its time for to unwind its smooth texture to reveal layers of plum, cassis and blueberries with an herbal lift and savoury spice and pepper accents. very very long and nuanced finish.

impeccably balanced and with the fruit, structure and acidity to go a long way, it is just approaching its drinking window… but clearly, its better rewards are a good handful of years away.

14.5% AbV; 75% Touriga Nacional/ 25% Touriga Franca; aged for fourteen months in new 400L French oak barrels

Deep ruby.

Pronounced on the nose with violet and well defined rich blackcurrant, blackberry, black plum, licorice, cinnamon, vanilla, cedar, dark chocolate, smoke, tobacco, leather, earth.

Pronounced and dry on the palate. Full body, high alcohol / acidity, high ripe tannins, long finish.

Can drink now but has potential for aging. Lovely fruit makes it enjoyable with a decant now but has the components to age well and will reward patience.

Really enjoyable wine with Bordeaux style and Douro character!

Terroir-istes International - Portugal, Douro (Groot Constantia): (Tasted Blind): Deep, black-purple colour with a blue hue. Savoury aroma with damson jam, blackberry coulis, and intense blue fruit are joined by juniper, pepper, sour fig, and a lifted volatile element,
The palate leans towards savoury notes, reminiscent of cured meat, followed by blackberry, damson and cranberry, with some oak spices and dark chocolate contributing to its complexity and a sweet prune juice character. Firm and chewy tannins with generous alcohol presence lead to a drying finish, giving the wine an angular structure.

Very interesting and earthy wine. First try if a Douro. Opaque, ruby color. Has mild tannins, some red fruit and little acidity.

I would have it with a mildly spiced meat or kebab
