2/20/2024 - biggie Likes this wine: 93 pointsFlower Day - Ullage to bottom of neck on bottle. Cork sound with no ingress of wine. Decanted off about a teaspoon of fine sediment with some stuck to the side of the bottle. Opaque dark garnet core with a medium garnet edge. Little sign of development via sight. Nose is blue and black fruit, vanilla, saddle leather, dark chocolate and potpourri. On the palate the tannins are fully resolved resulting in a soft and supple mouthfeel. The flavours are dark fruit with an earthy component (mulberry?) along with spice, dried red flowers and a bit of forest floor. Acidity is medium and the weight is lighter than expected leaning more to medium plus than full. The finish is long with the fruit, spice and floral elements carried by it. Really very good and the fruit is still a combination of both ripe and dried suggesting to me it’s still on the plateau. Drink now but it will hold another couple of years in a good cellar. Mine was purchased on release and held in my cellar till tonight. |

1/21/2024 - classicalspin Likes this wine: 88 pointsFully resolved, balanced, good mouth feel and texture, and drinking slightly past its peak. Initial burst of mostly dark fruits and decent length, but this will be marred for some by a noticeable bell pepper overtone. |

1/7/2024 - caspernick Likes this wine: 91 pointsInky colored and opaque with some wall staining and high viscosity (14.7% ABV). The nose of this Shiraz has aromas of ripe blackberry, vanilla, black cherry, baking spice, eucalyptus, violets and bramble berry. The palate is dry with medium (+) acidity and medium (+) tannins plus a full body. Ripe dark fruit dominates with some eucalyptus and baking spices supporting. Vanilla makes its entrance on the mid palate as well as some rooibos tea. The finish is long with bramble featuring plus some spice. The tannins- they are well integrated and I just realized they are so well balanced. This is a lovely drop that will drink nicely till 2030 and pair with grilled meat, Sunday roast or hearty stews. 91 points and for $20 it's a 5 star effort. |

Loads of acidity and well balanced. Bit past its prime but fun- I recall buying this bottle and saying to myself that I wanted to try it in 20 years. BOOM: test complete |

12/2/2023 - Henman Likes this wine: 89 pointsFrom a 375ml bottle. Aired in the bottle for one hour before pouring in the glass. Ripe dark fruit and gentle spicy notes on the nose. Medium to full bodied, smooth and supple, delivering ripe dark fruit with licorice, light peppery notes, smooth and firm tannins and decent acidity. A solid aussie shiraz. |

11/18/2023 - vaenoke Likes this wine: 89 pointsMedium Purple colour. Nose is tart, fruity and spicy, expressing characters of prunes, sour cherries, black pepper, violets and a whiff of licourice. Taste is also tart and fruity. Flavors include prunes, cranberries, some chocolate, peppercorns and licourice. Medium-high tannins, acid and body. Dry. Very nice and well balanced, with even some potential for development. |

11/12/2023 - Wayno the Wino Likes this wine: 87 pointsDefinitely dark berry and a little spiciness. I also got strong pencil shavings on the nose. Anticipated a fuller body in the mouth after a big nose, but it came off lighter than expected...it was full bodied, but I guess I'd call it "full-body, minus". I go 87, but for the price value, it's an 89. |
