It definitely needed to breathe. Once it was opened for a while it was much less tart. Pretty smooth.

Not a good wine. Spend your $20 on something else.

Not a great Cabernet, but a decent wine to just hang around and drink.

Worst purchase I have made in years. I tried different glasses and more air and ended up mixing with box wine. Reinforced my opinion of Sonoma Cabs.

Not bad Pinot… Let it breath for an hour so, good taste and tannins that are not strong. Drink now.

Clear Ruby red in color, aromas of sweet cherries, carries over to the palate of sweet cherry compote, with an odd background of sea salt, and very subtle touch of fish sauce. (Odd, but not unpleasant). Doesn’t fit the profile for what I’d expect for a Russian River Valley Pinot Noir, but interesting nonetheless. Maybe wouldn’t buy again.

Bright red fruit flavors, soft texture, not very complex. A good crowd pleasing choice for a party or cookout at <$20.

This beautiful dark red wine lends itself to a raspberry nose. This Pinot is light on the palette with flavors of raspberry, strawberry,.vanilla, Bing cherry, apple, very favorable light, & enjoyable. Very well balanced wine.

It’s tart with a dish soap taste. I paid $20 for this at Costo AND I bought the Costco Kirkland pinot from Carneros for $10 which was better than this Tide Pod-flavored tinkle.

Rich on the nose with rhubarb and ripe raspberry. On the palate it disappoints a bit. Astringent and fruitless. Moutfeel is nice but doesn’t deliver flavor wise. Wouldn’t buy again simply because there are better wines in this variety locally at a similar price point.

Aroma is dark berry and some red cherry. Tastes of cherry, blackberry, and plum - fairly fruity. Light cherry/berry finish.

Not a great pinot noir. It was hyped at Costco, but I'd rather pay a little more and get a better wine. Has quite a bit of that old PN "piquance" and not enough of the new PN elagence and balance.

Overall: ripe, new world, floral Pinot noir that is a pretty good deal when purchased on sale at Costco. Likely would be a crowd pleaser pinot.

Appearance: translucent garnet red, definitely showing some of the brown side of red rather than the purple side. Legs run down the glass quickly.

Nose: absolute floral bomb, smells almost like floral hand soap. Maybe violets and lavender. Overripe fruit - raisins and overripe sweet cherries.

Palate: medium-low acid, medium-low tannin, but balanced. Feels like a “drink now” kind of wine. It’s definitely showing ripe, dark fruit flavors, like cherries, blackberries, plum. Surprisingly not overly alcoholic or sweet considering the ripe character, though. No oakiness as far as I can tell.

Finish: medium length, slightly bitter, acid comes through; makes me want to go for another sip, though.

Impulse purchase @ Costco
14.5% abv - $13 (after $7 off)
Served slightly-chilled (66f) with Pork Chops over Orzo Pasta, sauteed Zucchini and Onion with Salad.

Clear ruby-red in the glass. Raspberry and red fruit on the nose, with more of a Cranberry and Cherry on the palate and some notes of Cola. Light to Medium Bodied with moderate acid, and subtle tannins. Pleasant lingering finish. Spouse Endorsed. Will buy more.

Wine compared well with a recently purchased 2017 Lucas and Lewellen Pinot Noir (Santa Barbara - Central Coast) in an informal side-by-side taste comparison. Both are legitimate 90 point contenders imho, and excellent examples of the California 'New-World' style of Pinot Noir; reminiscent of a Kosta Browne or Williams Selyem, but not quite yet the same league of excellence.

Time has not been kind to this wine. It retains a nice nose with cherries and oak, but low acidity and high alcohol have yielded an ungainly bottle.
