Drank blind next to the 2010 Christian Moreau Les Clos. DIAM 10. Strong showing tonight...salty, tons of tart lemon zest, crushed slate...this had everything you look for in a good Chablis. Much more focused than the 2010 yet still retaining plenty of complexity. It's worth noting that this was still showing a kiss of oak on the finish and could use some more time to settle down...but when it's this good already, why wait?

5/12/2021 8:55:00 PM - Hi nfleming2002, I believe they started bottling some of the lineup with DIAM in 2009. The 2010 Les Clos was DIAM 5 and this 2014 Les Clos was DIAM 10

Commanderie de Bordeaux: 2003 Left Bank Dinner (Pastis - Vancouver, BC): Quite restrained on the nose, giving off aromas of black cherry, asphalt, earth, black plum, and menthol. This moves more to the red side of the fruit spectrum on the palate, showing red cherry, black plum, tar, menthol, and black pepper. Moderate acidity with soft round tannins. Medium finish ending on notes of black cherry and black pepper. Less ripe and much more elegant than many of the others tasted on the evening. Nice balance, but overall lacks any real interest. My favorite of the flight. Very good

1/24/2013 4:12:00 PM - Epiphany, in general I like Bordeaux on the older side, or at the very least once it starts to develop secondary characteristics. Although 2003 was such an atypical vintage and may develop quite different from the norm, I believe this was still slightly closed and with some time this will flesh out a bit and improve. If you have multiple bottles you might want to try one in a couple years to see where it's at, but if I only had 1 bottle I'd wait 5 years to see where this goes personally.
