The wine was aged for 14 months in barriques, followed by one more year refinement in the bottle. It shows a dark ruby-red color and a distinguished bouquet of black cherry, plum, tobacco and vanilla. The full-bodied palate mirrors the nose with lush dark fruit, sweet herbs and present but elegant tannins; alcohol and acidity are very well balanced. Long, peppery aftertaste with a little bitterness. Beautifully drinkable now.

6/15/2011 11:18:00 AM - I plan on opening up this bottle tonight for my birthday. Do you reccomend that I let decant it for a few hours or should I open it up only a half hour or so before I drink it?
