4/1/2019 - Karoline.phillips Likes this wine: 100 pointsFor me, this wine is perfect. Straight after decanting: nose of sour cranberry, meat and game, olive, sweet spice and a hint blackcurrant. Palate balanced but intense, with noticeable acid and and an undercurrent of ripe fruit (heat and distinctive jammy edge at the end), med+ tannin. After about 2h - what a transformation. Nose evolves into strong blackberry and prune, violets, cedar, smoke (cigar box?) and a punch of spice (black pepper, star anise). On the palate, still balanced and with that jammy edge but with big chewy tannins. Persistent but elegant fruit. Rich, ripe, spicy, a really sexy wine. Pure hedonistic pleasure. Can’t remember enjoying a wine like that for a long time. Couldn’t be improved.
