1/12/2024 - MS86 Likes this wine: 92 pointsSurprised by the mediocre reviews, though perhaps this has improved with time in bottle. Expressive and attractive aromas of tobacco, menthol, leather and rich black cherry. Mellow tannins and pronounced, persistent acidity. Flavours add some bitter dark chocolate. Excellent length. Drink now. |

1/6/2024 - MS86 Likes this wine: 90 points2 years beyond the end of the suggested drinking window. Showing clear signs of age. Honeyed, waxy. Ripe pear, ginger. Textural. Powerful acids. Hot alcohol - something I wish wasn’t there. One more bottle in the cellar, I’m curious to try it in a few years. |

9/29/2020 - YackAttack213 Likes this wine: NR94. Wonderful perfumed floral smell with no alcoholic bite, cloudy, tobacco, oak, herbal, cherry. Medium-light body. Not fruit forward, this is and will become more elegant over time. |

9/29/2020 - YackAttack213 Does not like this wine: 70 points70. Nectarine pit, there's faint yeast on the nose but doesn't make it to the palate, lots of minerality, not sure there is as much pressure as expected, clearly young as expected. I've had worse, and the value is ok, but would still go French. Was tough to finish a bottle and that's not a great sign |

9/29/2020 - YackAttack213 Likes this wine: 92 points92. Smooth, silky, medium bodied, nectarine, peach, mellow, not tart or too acidic, a little oak or something woody, overripe Bosch pear. A white I can get behind. |

9/29/2020 - YackAttack213 wrote: 87 points87. Weird nose out of the bottle but give it a few minutes then it becomes floral, perfume. Tastes of fresh ripe plum, fresh ripe blackberry fruit (the fleshy part), oak, vanilla bean, some bitter chocolate finish. Just a little astringency. Dry and smooth, drink now. The fruit fades after a couple of hours leaving a tartness which isn't really for me. |

12/29/2020 - YackAttack213 Likes this wine: 91 points91 👃 pomegranate, cherry, strawberry, menthol, some vegetation. Color burgundy with some pink at the edges, translucent. Palate: ripe red cherry, some oak and leather, only enough tannin and acid to give nice structure, menthol, some chocolate at the very end. Very good. Drink now (Dec 2020) |

7/29/2021 - YackAttack213 Likes this wine: 90 points90 July 2021👃 pear, red apple, honey. 👅 Almost oily, initially closed but as it warms up in the mouth there is a lot of guava, supported by pear and honey, peach skin. Mineral. Solid white Rhone blend. Elegant. Classy. This was elevated when I had it paired with lamb curry and Chinese style crab. |

7/29/2022 - YackAttack213 Likes this wine: 92 points92 Jul 2022 👃 garrigue, black cherry, perfumes. 👅 PnP slightly mouth watering acidity, stems, cherry fruit underpins it all from the back row, nutmeg, cinnamon, kind of lightweight. Very sippable. I think this is like a good southern Rhone red but much more acidic, which is better IMO, though you get better value in southern Rhone. On day 2, lost just a tiny bit of acidity, but also the earthiness, allowing more fruit to come out. Still very good. |

6/11/2023 - biggie Likes this wine: 93 pointsLeaf Day - Pours lemon in colour into the glass. Nose is white peach, pear, sweet herbs and the tiniest touch of honey. On the palate it has full weight from the fruit (no oak) and rich flavours of peach, apple, sweet herbs and a touch of lime. Rich and viscous on the palate there is terrific acidity to this wine keeping it from being too heavy. The (already) long finish showcases apple, pear and lime zest and juice. It’s really tasty and I just wish Blasted Church had put some under cork because I’d love to see where this goes in 8 or so years. Extremely well done and kudos to Blasted Church. |
