6/13/2021 - Neurowine1 Likes this wine: NRMy one and only bottle of this (having donated another one about 5 years ago). From K&L. I have no experience with this house and have not seen this wine since I bought it 10 years ago. This is a bit over the hill at this point and would have been a bit fresher 5+ years ago. Still this is very nice. A traditional brunelli will black cherry, black pepper, thyme, and tobacco. Little if any wood apparent, which is a refreshing change to many a brunelli. I do like this style. |

1/9/2013 - ericindc Likes this wine: 94 pointsOutstanding brunello. Massive and monolithic nose. Taste was big, blocky black fruits with huge, drying tannins. Huge potential here. Needs 4 hrs decanted or 3+ years in the bottle. Fantastic. |

12/30/2012 - enricob Likes this wine: 95 pointsUsing the same enologist of La Cerbaiona, this relatively unknown producer seems to be doing great wines. 2005-06-07 Vertical. 2007 vintage needs some more time in bottle, but compares favorably with 2006 - another fantastic wine, although with less aging capabilities - and 2005 which instead proved unremarkable. |

6/11/2008 - beachnic wrote: 93 pointsNeeds at least 2-4 hrs decant time. Excellent concentration, alot of smoke and lot's of chewey tannins at the end. Lots of smokey meaty flavors that build with time. Big tannins. Impressive. |

2/10/2008 - beachnic wrote: 93 pointsThere's that spritziness again. Not sure if it's a Lactic acid bacterial thing (a little secondary fermentation?) or not but it blows away after an hour or two. This has nice smokey tones and good deep fruit to it. Not quite the structure I remember with the first bottle. I'm going to let it decant for an hour. 92Pts. |
