[0.8] Indie w/ Peter pre-MW exam (Indie Wine Bar): (blind)
Medium ruby-garnet.
Tomato stew, moderate impression of stewed bell peppers - pyrazinic.
Stewed spices - some new oak.
Medium plus body, 14% alcohol, medium plus acid, medium plus tannins.

Pyrazinic with some oak and elevated alcohol suggests:

- Bordeaux
- California cab- would expect more fruit - black fruit, ripe fruit.
- Loire cab franc - high end, with age. Oak is unusual. Is there actually oak or is this just a well-integrated wine? I think there's a little oak.

Final call: 2017 Bordeaux, Left Bank (Cab-dominant), Haut-Medoc (decent quality but not classified growth level).
Actual: anne de joyeuse. vdp Original cab sauv 2018. Languedoc-Roussillon.
Fermentation in stainless steel tanks with constant monitoring of temperature for 8 days, then maceration for 30 days. 50% of the wine goes to stainless steel tanks, the remaining 50% is aged in barrels (1/3 new, 1/3 one year old, 1/3 two year old).

Conclusion: atypical wine, but I nailed the style - lower-priced cab-dominant blend with a little new oak.

A surprise now with a firm chardonnay impression, some peaches, ripeness combined with freshness and concentration from the midtaste to the finish.

No breakdown on assemblage on this bottle but it sure seems like lots of syrah and/or cab. franc in here. I do know it is 100% delicious. Plenty of dark fruit along with black pepper and leather. Med. body, good length on the finish.

After a first glass it took a few days in the fridge to come round. A lovely spicy, warm, soft bouquet, with a hint of earthiness in the taste , smooth, round, but with sufficient freshness; a well made wine.
Give this wine, certainly the younger vintages, a firm push of aeration.

Very pleasant with Indian food. Nose is fruit forward, but I cannot identify the fruit. Fruit on the pallet as well. Fuller mouth feel than some Australian/New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs. Fruit on the aftertaste, with none (or maybe a hint) of the minerality of a Sancerre.

The wine looks very pale yellow gold colored. It smells like melon. It tastes like honeydew. The body is medium. The wine has silky texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has medium acidity.

(opened 2 hours ago) - color: light yellow-gold; nose: flowery perfume; taste: lightish-bodied mouth feel, fruity taste, nondescript mid-palate, short-length finish with tart apple notes, mild tannins; overall: average but in a good way... tasty and well-balanced, good QPR ($13/bottle at Spirits of Mount Vernon in Baltimore), ready to drink as of November 2017, pairs well with light hors d'oeuvres. Will buy again!

(Day 2) - color: medium yellow; nose: light oak and butterscotch; taste: medium-bodied mouth feel, rounded buttery taste, medium-length finish with flinty notes, mild tannins; overall: similar to 2014 vintage...an affable, easy-to-like, and modern-tasting middle-of-the-oak-road chard that's a giant step above average, good QPR ($13.50/bottle at Spirits of Mount Vernon in Baltimore), ready to drink as of September 2017, should pair well with light hors d'oeuvres, would serve to company. Will buy again!

Lovely flavones of raspberries, cranberries, ribes and hint of oak, but a small hint.
Fruity driven on the palate as well, supple with lovely red cherry aroma.
Medium body, medium acidity , and medium - tannns.
Soft and very easy to drink...well mad

Wow...Pronounced aromas of white flowers, white stone fruits, peaches with a hint butterscotch...
On the palate it has medium body, medium acidity, medium alcohol with flavours of lemon, butterscotch and toast.
Nice wine, only critic is that the finish is short and it could do with a little more acidity to keep it fresh and interesting.

color: light yellow; nose: light floral -- nice!; taste: medium-bodied mouth feel, rounded oakey-fruity taste, medium-length butterscotch finish with some flinty tannins; overall: polished, self-assured, well above average, fully ready to drink as of Summer 2016, very presentable to company, good QPR, fine for sipping on its own and would pair well with light hors d'oeuvres (smoked salmon, deviled eggs, brie, etc.). Buy again!

(opened for 24 hours) color: purple velvet; nose: earth and faint oak; taste: medium-bodied mouth feel, vegetal plum fruit taste, not fully ripe, spicy on tongue, medium-length finish with licorice black pepper gum-sucking tannins ; overall: overly young and very tight as of June 2016 -- too soon to drink! Cellar for another 12-18 months. Should get much better!
