Excellent value. Well balanced dry red, kinda generic, but good drinking. Fuzzy low touch tannin and a hint of game. Points for value.

Dumb, simple and too sweet for my conservative palate. Some slightly rough acid and minerals provide some sorely needed backbone but a lost cause for me. Will be fine for most looking for PG at this price point.

At least as good as any of the previous tastings. Tangy fruits, soft honey, matchstick and wood, some tropical fruits. Some backbone appearing with the honey. Crowd pleasing yes but has smarts.

This bottle performed much better than my last bottle. Very sharp nose of spices, pepper and fresh herbs. Delicious dark cherry and violet floral aroma bursting in the mouth with a good intensity. It's such a bargain with less than US$7. Highly recommended.

The 2012 Under & Over Tumbarumba Chardonnay was vinified with minimal oak influence to create a fresh, fruit driven style. To be enjoyed in it's youth

Sharp nose of spices, bell pepper, fresh herbs shown just after opening bottles and then more aroma of mulberry and violet flower came out. Taste of mulberry and dark cherry was quite OK with some pepper spiciness. Full body but not in big and jammy style. Some dry tannin at finish. Some dark cherry and mulberry aftertaste. Overall exceeded my expectation because I just bought it at US$6 from supermarket.

Surprising tasting. A clear layer of pongy mature fruits have crept in but could be bottle variation more than anything else. Otherwise retains the PG-like, and acid tinged, musky fruits. Drink over the next 9 months.

Violets, blackberry and spices on the nose with a hint of dried herbs. The palette is very dry and tannic, with a powerful leather and mulberry mid palette, that leads to a finish of more tannins and a bright acidity.

Pulled from the cellar by mistake. Near identical notes to the December tasting.

This is interesting and certainly delivers well for the price, but I'm not a big fan of the slightly over-ripe stone fruit and the citrus is a bit weak, but the palette shows a good balance of juiciness with nice acidity.

Good oak and matchstick on the nose; points to a wine playing much night than its $15 asking price. Palate doesn't really stack up albeit the early fruit is classy and reflects the aromas. Fruit does fall away somewhat although some tangy cool climate fruits and oak (or oak-like) flavours are attractive.

My previous note seems a bit off based on this tasting. Tangy yes but the PG character is absent. Some harder oak like notes are very smart and hint (but only just) at much more expensive wines. No problem drinking into 2013.

A very floral Pinot Gris, with some nice ripe fruit on the nose and very fresh, full acidic palette with a zingy mineral finish. Very textural and straight forward. Good value.

This took half an hour or so to open up properly and once it did there were plenty of flinty characters working well with the stone fruits and subtle, but present tangy lime. The palette is soft and fruity with a nice balancing acid and a citrus finish.

Would have picked this as a Pinot Grigio is tasted blind. Wonderfully clean and well made the flavours are more tangy musk and minerals. Can't pick any oak but these seems to have more stuffing than your typical unwooded Oz chardonnay. Buzzy light acid finish. Summer crowd pleaser with smarts. Drink over the next 2 years.
