4/21/2024 - Teknsteel Likes this wine: 91 pointsDeep purple. Black fruit on the nose. Starting to show 2ndary aromas of leather and cured meat on the palate, but black fruit and pepper still dominate. And of course the typical eucalyptus note that I for one appreciate. Northern Rhône-Aussie fusion that holds its own. |

3/29/2024 - Federico Sesta Likes this wine: 90 pointsThe wine looks light gold colored. The legs are fast. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like grapefruit, apple, oak and vanilla. It tastes like grapefruit, lemon, peach, apple, mineral, oak and vanilla. The body is medium. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has high acidity. |

1/27/2024 - biggie Likes this wine: 91 pointsFruit Day - mid neck fill. Cork sound with wine ingress about 1/2 way up one side. Decanted off about a tablespoon of fine sediment. Definite mahogany tinted garnet core and wide edge - development showing. Nose is leather, tobacco, dried red flowers, dried fruit and some funk/shoe polish. On the palate the fruit is riper than on the nose with the leather, tobacco and some light funk present. Soft on the palate with the ripe tannins still present but resolved. Medium acidity keeps it lively. The finish is long with some spice present as well as some floral notes. This is at a decant and taste stage while the wine is still cool from the cellar. |

7/26/2023 - The Drunken Cyclist Likes this wine: 90 pointsRetail $25. 100% Pinot Noir (?). Really a deep, gorgeous salmon color with loads of red berry fruit, particularly strawberry and cherry. There is also a flinty, chalkiness that leads to a slight salinity. A really fantastic presentation in the glass. The palate is quite vibrant, particularly initially, with a wave of fruit followed immediately by the chalky flintiness (or is it a flint chalkiness?). All works well together, with a slightly (ever so) sweet and chalky finish. |

7/19/2023 - The Drunken Cyclist Likes this wine: 92 pointsRetail $22(?). Under screw cap. True Rosé (as far as I can tell). 100% Pinot Noir. The color of this wine is beautiful: ripe watermelon, probably about halfway between the Proveçal œil de Perdix and the richer, almost red, wines of Tavel. Lovely red berry fruit on the nose with a mineral aspect as well as some red rose and a hint of white pepper. The palate is fruity, for sure, but it is well-balanced with a zingy tartness and a healthy dose of verve. This is my first experience, essentially (I think I tasted a few at a Wine Bloggers Conference a while ago), with Bird in Hand, but so far? Definitely so good. |

2022 Bird in Hand Sauvignon BlancAdelaide Hills more |
7/17/2023 - The Drunken Cyclist Likes this wine: 92 pointsRetail $22. Under screw cap. Pale color with fairly intense aromas of citrus, lychee, and all kinds of tropical fruit (pineapple, mango, guava) with concentrated floral notes as well: acacia, honey blossom, and hyacinth. Whoa. The palate is quite tart, even *really* tart with abundant fruit but frankly, it struggles to keep up with the acidity. All of that persists through the lengthy finish. I am not a huge fan of Sauvignon Blanc in general and Australian/NZ SB in particular, but this is a particularly compelling version, without a doubt. |

5/30/2023 - crazywineguy wrote: 89 pointsThis is a far cry from the quality of the 2010. Dusty, unforgiving, some fruit there but not plush and not integrated/mature yet. A lesser wine/vintage. Don't see the price/pleasure rapport here at $99/bottle AUD. |

And there are tonnes of various sweet red berries. Finished the bottle the next day, so was not that bad if you start with it, but more aperitif style that with food. |

5/26/2023 - isaacjamesbaker wrote: 91 pointsPale straw color. The aromas pop with a mix of pineapple, juicy mango, honeydew melon, drizzled with lime, topped in white flowers, oregano, perfume, freshly sliced cucumbers – a lot to enjoy on the nose. Medium-bodied, pleasant mouthfeel, crisp acidity, and the fruit comes in the form of kiwi, pineapple, orange peel, love the balance, creaminess. The nuances of sliced green onion, honeysuckle, dandelion, and daisies add a lot to like, and there’s this vibrant, stony, mountain stream vibe that lingers on the finish. I was really surprised by the balance and focus in this Sauv Blanc. |

5/26/2023 - isaacjamesbaker wrote: 90 pointsBright watermelon color. So bright and inviting on the nose with fresh red apples, pretty strawberries, and cantaloupe, with a bright, spicy, floral appeal of celery seed, mint, chalk dust, floral meadows. The palate is zesty and tangy but there’s a pretty, honeyed texture and mouthfeel. Watermelon, McIntosh apple, strawberry rhubarb pie, these flavors are delicious and accentuated by effusive chalk, flint, minerals, and notes of white flowers and white pepper. Love the depth, precision, and balance here. |

5/25/2023 - isaacjamesbaker wrote: 90 pointsDeep salmon color. The nose sports a brisk, chalky appeal with floral perfume, dandelion, along with crunchy white cherries and red apples. The palate sports fine bubbles and a creamy depth that balances well with zesty acidity. The fruit tends toward crunchy red apples, wild raspberries, white cherries, which are mixed well with tones of saline, chalk dusty, white flowers, hints of rhubarb and white pepper. Some flinty minerals on the finish. Super fun, crushable, crowd-pleasing, but complex and nuances throughout. Cool stuff! |
