Classic Bordeaux damp earth nose with significant tannins, but not much else. Light and w/o a lot of substance.

Straw cloured; grassy, aromatic, spicey; soft, rather overblown; finishes well. 13

Intense, but a little heavy and overripe.

Not bad especially given the price ($12). Would definitely buy again.

Simple crisp quaffer. Lemon, maybe a little bit of pineapple. Paired well with shrimp okra gumbo and caprese salad.

An unspectacular wine. Won't get again. No depth or fruit to the flavour.

Dark ruby color. Strong floral aromas, especially lavendar. Thin body with understated fruit flavors followed by graphite and mocha. Silky tannins and lavendar on the finish.

If this is an indication of the quality and taste of the 2005 vintage we are in for a real treat over the next several years. I would suggest getting a case and drinking it over the next three to five years.

A soft floral violet nose with some musk, lemon peel, mushroom, earth and undergrowth (not my favourite white wine characters). There is a slight off-dry character to the palate with length good but structurally weak.

Opened and splash decanted about 30 minutes before serving in Spiegelau Authenthis Magnum glasses. Dark ruby color, clear from rim to center. Nose of chocolate, dark fruit, smoke, cedar, plum. PURPLE says the chocolate is more mocha instead. A bit tannic at first. Opens up fairly well and smooths out around the 1 hour mark. Red cherry, lingering chocolate/mocha on the palate, a bit if earthiness towards the front. Not a bad little wine for the $15.00 entrance fee. If you're looking for an inexpensive Bordeaux that you can pop over the very short term this one just might fit the bill. Over the short term be sure and decant at least 30 minutes before serving.

Nice simple wine. Had as apertif. Balanced, crisp, lemony flavors. Better than most white Bordeaux at this price. Great value

The description below is pretty accurate at first but I let it decant for about 1.5 hours and it opened up nicely, the nose warmed up and the hidden fruit came forward and overall the flavors balanced out. A bit rustic in the end but great with the sirloin we had.

Light golden yellow. The nose has hints of minerals, some fruit (pineapple?), and a very slight grassy streak to it. On the palate there is crisp acidity with a smooth mouth feel. The finish is medium length.

Solid, but uninspiring. Tight on the nose, slightly thin on the palate. Not sure if this is shut down, or if this is just what it has to give. Probably worth the $10 or so I paid. Maybe it needs more time...

Not sure where this appeared from: I can't remember the last time I bought a dry white Bordeaux. Maybe it's from the Waitrose Jefford case?
Pale to medium straw. Fragrant, grassy nose with bit of feline pee, but with a warmer citrus note. Fresh, crisp attack. Fills very well. Rich and creamy on the middle and finishes with dry acidity. Very Good Indeed.
