1/16/2005 - wineismylife wrote: NROpened and splash decanted about 30 minutes before serving in Spiegelau Authenthis Magnum glasses. Dark ruby color, clear from rim to center. Nose of chocolate, dark fruit, smoke, cedar, plum. PURPLE says the chocolate is more mocha instead. A bit tannic at first. Opens up fairly well and smooths out around the 1 hour mark. Red cherry, lingering chocolate/mocha on the palate, a bit if earthiness towards the front. Not a bad little wine for the $15.00 entrance fee. If you're looking for an inexpensive Bordeaux that you can pop over the very short term this one just might fit the bill. Over the short term be sure and decant at least 30 minutes before serving. |
