[Restaurant purchase] No detailed notes. On the light and elegant side of the ripasso spectrum (which is positive)

This was only my second Amarone, but surprisingly good, structured and clear. Good acidity, with plums, tobacco and chocolate, even very ripe blackberry. But never heavy or over-textured, this wine is a good drink-now, but has potential also.

Better than your average bear. Light early but dry cherry and herbs kick in. Forces me to rethink the grape.

colour moderately intense, not forced. The nose is expressive and fresher than in many ripassos. Corvina and Corvinone traditional cherry mark, with pepper and floral nose. The mouth is very satisfying and never agressive, precise and straight to the point, rendering once again mostly fruity impression, with a beautiful fresh final, balancing nicely the tannins. That is a ripasso that can age gracefully.

Lovely and lively Soave. The nose is typical with white flowers, apple and citrus, very pure. Great refreshing and pleasant mouth, with a more almond finish, long enough. unpretentious but very truthful rendition of the varietal.

not usually a big fan of macerated whites, whatever name it is given. But of course, when made by proper people on high class soils, that is another game.
Here the colour is beautifully dark but very clear and clean. The nose is intense but delicate at the same time, with clear white flowers, lemon zest and an almost peppery touch. It changes a lot too. In the mouth quite a good volume but nothing is agressive, and the sustained acidity carries it on for a very long time. A wonderful example.

Consistent with previous note.

Ripe racy and complex with fresh and macerate fruit notes. Tons of life ahead.

One of the best Ripasso.

This is an amazing Amarone that has it all. Early-stage maturity and will continue to develop beautifully over (at least) the next decade.

Smashing rosé. Had a depth and savoriness underneath hibiscus and vaguely cranberry fruit. And an electric finish that lifted instead of tiring. Liked it a lot.

All the ripe red and dried fruit you'd expect, along with spice and emerging savoury notes of truffle and earth. Good balance of acidity, alcohol, and ripe, smooth tannins. There is still plenty of primary fruit, so this will develop further.

Nice complexity with notes of black and red berries, toasty yeast notes, cloves and nutmeg, raisins and prunes. There is a lovely brandied cherry note too. Not as complex as some, but immensely drinkable. The tannins are incredibly ripe. Lovely long finish.

Sour cherry, plum, red capsicum, and rose on the nose. High acidity keeps it bitingly fresh. The tannins are smooth and the alcohol moderate. The finish is a little short. It is just a little lacking all round.

Gold colored and floral in nose. Taste is dry, but has citrus bite and a rich and round mouthfeel. It feels sweet without being sweet. Really nice.

Briefly - this needs at least 2-3 hours of air. I decanted it, but not for long enough and it was just getting itself together after about 3 hours. Then this is a nicely balanced dark fruit food wine. But for me it needs some more years. Now maybe 89-90; I guess in a few years 92-3.

crushed petals, balsamic, dark fruit on the nose, some noticeable VA. sweet blackcurrant fruit, dark cherry, chocolate, mild spice. quite plush. full bodied but not very forceful. medium to long finish. pretty good although i'm not sure if its really representative of a classical amarone. this has already reached an early to middle stage of maturity
