Earth and cherry pretty well sums it up in a nicely balanced wine with lift at the end from mostly minerality and touch acidity…
Really good Bourgogne…..
Buy it you won’t regret it

Had this vs an Oregon Pinot and as you would expect it delivered more complexity with the earthy component and more complexity…
The Oregon was very good with clean precise fruit but lacked the stuffing the French Pinot delivered…

Deep ruby purple red…
Wild herbs, cherry plum(if that’s a thing)..pie crust nose…
Strawberry, garrigue, spice, cherry really wrapped in a lifted acidic earthy finish…
Serious wine ….needs a few years to really develop…..
Great potential burgundy….

Step up….no butter note on nose…..
Just nice fruit earth and spice…
Wonderfully balanced wine with big fruit hit sharing the spot light with excellent terroir earth and spice notes… lasting persistent finish with
solid tannins and minerality….
91/92 outright….higher QPR adjusted…
Puts many Cali pinots to shame….excellent

Nice coloration….
Nose reminds me of butter, which I have to say I have never smelled before in any wine, light raspberry, touch earth…..
Simple raspberry and cherry flavors that have a tad bit of persistence,
With decent minerality and acidity….
On the simpler side but a good quaff nonetheless…

Eight Decades of Decadence: A wonderful Corton-Charlemagne, especially at this spritely young age. It was super refreshing to have a great white wine amongst all these reds. Refined.

This is a domaine to watch. Etienne Delarche who took over after his father Marius's passing in 2007 has been steadily improving the quality. In 2020, Etienne finally put his own name on the newly redesigned labels. Currently, it is flying under the radar. I wonder how long it will be so.

Medium plus body. Medium plus acidity. Velvety tannin.

A slightly reductive nose. Earthy scents of forest floor and mushroom. Notes of coffee and bay leaf. Fruit of dark cherry and black currant. Midpalate note of anise and fennel. Strongly mineral. Finishes with spices and green tea.

It packs power and elegance. This is likely to be an early-drinking Grand Cru.

This was nice stuff but a little rough, and one of the few wines that was much more enjoyable and engaging on the palate compared to the nose for me, rather than the other way around. The nose was a little harsh, reductive, mostly peppery and leathery with very little fruit, even after a long decant. But the palate was quite beautiful, with a very pretty raspberry/cherry tone, a little sappy with solid ripeness, lots of minerals and beautifully balanced bright acidity. It's sort of felt like half of a great wine for the price. There haven't been many times where I've experienced a quality gap this large between the nose and the palate, and I wonder if there might be some bottle variation, if it needs to be shaken after opening, if it needs aging, or if it's just like that.
