Amazing. I didn't get much on the nose even with swirling but the flavor... Fruit-forward cherries and raspberries with a hint of gravel underneath. No alcohol burn, tannins present but only if you asked to see them. Such perfect balance. PnP at cellar temp and paired with sous vide ribeye. My wife was equally impressed (with the wine, not me.)

This has been a very problematic producer for this vintage. Decanted for c 1.5 hours. Again some rather unpleasant medicinal fumes taste. But got better as evening proceeded. Drunk alongside 2003 Clos des papes and 1999 Pegau Feter c 4 hours this wine became drinkable. In summary all 6 bottles have ranged from being undrinkable to very hard work.

Lovely floral aromas, bright and lively. Deep dark red hue in the glass. Nice acidity, rounded tannins with nice fruit flavors of blackberry and cassis. Dark cherry as well. Nicely done.

Wonderful wine. I'd say this bottle was just a bit beyond peak. Sitting in the glass for an hour was ideal.

At holiday end 4,5 years ago, I bought this bottle at Pierre Ussiglio’s winery during a hit and run visit (still 1150 km’s to go). It was not easy to get through the Chateaneuf village because the folks were celebrating the ‘Veraison’. But I was happy to get some bottles, including these whites, knowing that these are not easy to get. It seems be now at it’s peak. Not complex, but fresh fruity, flowers, almonds and a lot of drinking pleasure.

Tasted initially after an hour in a decanter. Smooth, savory and juicy. Full flavored but not big, Blackberry, blueberry and spice. More mellow and elegant than I expected. A touch of sweet and licorice. A very satisfying wine.

Wonderful with pomegranate-braised lamb shank. As others have noted, both drinking robustly now and with undoubtedly long life ahead. Tremendous QPR - I'd put this against a lot of much more expensive CdPs with confidence.

Drinking beautifully. Delicious dark red fruits, tremendous balance, lots of secondary nuances. Just a great example of mature, serious Chateauneuf. This is why we cellar great wines.

Beautiful aged grenache- No heat from alcohol nor candied concentration - Eaten with grilled Wagyu NY and a burger for the boss- beautiful pairing with the wine with very little time to air it out.

Tasted over 1.5 hrs, from 375 mL
-med dark red no bricking
-heady fig spicy fruitcake warm kirsch plum
-med- acidity, big thick unctuous almost syrupy molasses fig plum faint hints of maturity and long burnt caramel somewhat warm finish with med- tannins
-wow, there is a lot there and even in this format still has some years ahead of it, this is one of the few '07 CdPs in my opinion that has lived up to its hype in that it isn't ridiculously hot roasted or grossly imbalanced, while I still prefer cooler vintage old school CdP this is an '07 I can enjoy; really has evolved positively since the last time tasted 7 years ago

I've had several 2016 CdP and am very impressed with the vintage. This is the first Reserve I've seen. 100% Grenache. A monster of a wine. Bold, complex, with great depth and intensity of flavors. Very long finish. Very dark color. Fruits were rich and voluptuous. Cherry, blackberry, blueberry, earthy notes, smoke. Great paired with roasted goat!

Too old for my taste. Not over the hill but little fruit left and lots of charcoal, soak, earth and leather. Soft tannins, lower acid, full bodied, medium finish.

Nice modern-styled elegant CdP. Very fruit driven, soft and sweet tannin, goes down ever so easily. Underneath all this relaxed ease, there is enough material to last for years - the more so as this wine is extremely well balanced.

Possessing much less complexity than their lower level bottles; the 2007 Cuvee de mon Aieul is very fruity, one dimensional, and wildly overpriced. Very dark and reduced; it's a bit smokey with a lightly spiced finished. Alcoholic mid-palate (15%) quickly dries out and leaves a heavy note of oak and somewhat green tobacco. This seems to be a case of over-manipulation and heavy-handed winemaking; if they would have done less, it might have ended with a better result.

Sampled over three nights with vin-vac in between each. The third night was the best. Although still some stiff tannins present, they smoothed out by the 3rd night. Plenty of black pepper to go with extremely vibrant and overripe raspberry and wineberry notes. Some black fruits, dried herbs, Oak and gravel as well. In many ways a typical high class CDP Grenache but with is own distinctive signature nonetheless.

Still very good condition, lively, young and energetic. A bright but deep and complex black fruit with herbal notes. Velvety under the very good integration of tannin. Long aftertaste. Difficult to guess its a granache dominated wine.

14.5% alcohol. Pure Grenache according to the domaine's website. Dark colour all the way to the rim.
The nose is rich, but all the fruit is cooked, and there are even definite notes of Port (this is without decanting of course). The mouth is powerful, largely carried by the alcohol (which might well exceed the stated percentage); the cooked aspect of the fruit is more acceptable than on the nose, but the wine lacks elegance and balance. There is a definite sweet note in the finish.
I have gone off this style of wine completely, and I would rank this bottle several notches below l'Or de Line 2018 which is the last CndP that I had.
Not a repeat purchase. Whatever critic influenced me to purchase this wine at release was hopelessly misguided, and I was silly to follow his advice.

PS: looking back at my previous note from three years ago, I see that I was more positive at the time. Either the evolution of the wine has been unfavourable, or the two bottles showed variation, or my tastes have changed (unlikely to that extent, as I have never liked Port notes in my unfortified wines).
