11/15/2023 - jusdavi wrote: 92 pointsLight browning with overall good color with clear edges, certainly on the way down but still enjoyable. From .750L @ 20 Years old. No real fruit on the nose after 45 min. Becomes alcohol and some what oxidized. Medium sediment in the bottle. Taste is what saves it. Wine is sweet, showing good extraction and quality with medium acidity. Drink up. $30/USD at auction. |

3/7/2023 - The Wine Monkeys wrote: 89 pointsBig nose of clove and cassis. Concentrated, fleshy and slightly jammy dark fruit with mild tannins and a medium finish. Compared to the other notes I’m going with starting to fade but still very drinkable albeit not my style. I’m not typically a Cali Cab fan, more old world bordeaux, so my palate is likely tainted. |

10/15/2022 - wmccone54 Likes this wine: NRThis is still going strong: mature, showcasing cooked and stewed black fruits, with grainy tannins and medium acidity providing structure and balance. Tertiary notes provide complexity. Good concentration and intensity. Long finish. Although in the mature phase, I don’t see this fading soon, it should provide pleasure for another 2-5 years. |

12/31/2019 - cab_fran Likes this wine: 94 pointsThis was our final Bisou, unless I can somehow find more this year or next. Consistent with earlier tasting notes, these cabs from James Johnson are lights-out. I think the enjoyable drinking window might go to 2022 for this one and the '08, but I would not hold much longer than that. Very good right now. Cheers! |

7/16/2019 - FlyPig Likes this wine: 94 pointsMuted nose of crushed red fruit, some earth. Dense, mouth coating, dark cherry, dark chocolate, chewy. Drinking beautifully with a little air, best at ~65F, loses viscosity and a touch of heat becomes noticeable as it warms. Drink or hold. |

3/27/2019 - cab_fran Likes this wine: 95 pointsThese bottles of Bisou continue to blow me away, drinking incredibly well at 10 years bottle age. There was layered red and black fruit with awesome secondary notes of mint and sweet tobacco. This was WOTN; it’s hard for me to imagine higher quality in Napa at this price point. |

2/3/2019 - ogres3 Likes this wine: 92 pointsDecanted for an hour and maybe sat for another hour at the restaurant. Still benefits from air. Deep red hues. Nose improves with time but is new world fruit. Smooth complex full bodied wine with integrated fruit that pairs well with wine but probably could drink on its own. Good finish. |

11/16/2018 - cab_fran Likes this wine: 97 pointsOur second and final bottle of an all-time favorite; it was simply phenomenal at 10 years. There was a depth of flavor here, to include profound dark fruit and a memorable tar and mint flavor that rounded out the finish. This superstar cabernet was at prime drinking after about 30 minutes of bottle air, which makes me think it has about 2 years of peak drinking remaining. A standout wine to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. Highly recommend. |

9/9/2018 - BerkeleyBoy Likes this wine: 94 pointsWe had this magnum of Bisou last night with a couple of porterhouse steaks. Glasses emptied quickly as it was excellent; everyone enjoyed it. Slow ox for a couple of hours and I should have put it in a decanter as it threw off a LOT of sediment. I have another '03 in the cellar along with an '08 that showed well a few months ago. Great value! I will look for more. |

3/10/2018 - bacchus wrote: 92 pointsshared with pat at selkirk manor to celebrate the end of the work week. after looking at recent high scores from others, i could not resist opening this bottle even though vinous says it has more life ahead. the packaging is most impressive with thick walled glass adding considerable weight. this bottle form is usually reserved for substantial wine worthy of such protection and this wine proved to be no exception. the wine is extraordinarily complex on the nose and in the mouth. multiple layers of fruit that continue to unfold with time in the glass. each sip makes one beg for more. had to work hard to savor slowly enough to be able to observe the wine evolve. most enjoyable now. glad i have two more which i will keep until 2020 as per galloni. this experience was all the more enjoyable, having acquired the wine at a favorable price from LBW. |
