5/14/2024 - RGCM Gananda wrote: NRPrior bottle was almost 6 months ago and my notes were again consistent. Apple, pear and citrus notes on the nose with a touch of saline coming in towards the back. Between light and medium bodied with white apple and pear still the predominant fruit notes. Grapefruit and other citrus notes on the back along with a good amount of acidity as well as some mineral notes. Balance is generally where it was in my prior bottle. The citrus notes and acidity provide good contrast to the fruit, but overall this remains a relatively uncomplicated wine with good acidity, but there wasn't anything that sound out or really differentiated this wine or justified purchases of future vintages. It's drinking well at present and should be able to hold up over the next few years. |

12/31/2023 - bram_epicurien Likes this wine: 90 pointsLast day of the year, served from magnum with the salmon, with the Lalliardo’s in bonneville. Light lemon color. Sweet apple, citrus, hay, a light nose. Med acidity, med body, med flavor intensity, med alcohol, med finish. Nice acidity, ripe apples, roasted pineapple, citrus, salinity. Very likeable and easy drinking. Rather unique style. A success with the smoked salmon. |

11/27/2023 - RGCM Gananda wrote: 87 pointsPrior bottle was nearly 6 months ago and my notes were very similar. Apple, pear and citrus on the nose, but the saline note was considerably less noticeable than my prior bottle (served not quite as cold). Between light and medium bodied with rounded white apple and slightly brighter white pear again the dominant fruit notes. Much less grapefruit on the backside this time (although still present) to go along with the other citrus notes and acidity. Acidity was a bit more in balance with the fruit this time around. Overall, a pleasant, relatively straight forward wine with decent acidity, but not tremendous complexity. Still, a fund bottle for everyday drinking (cellaring not needed or recommended) and I'll probably open my last bottle by early Q2 2024. |

11/11/2023 - talbot61 Likes this wine: NRThis is the latest in a series of lightweight, high-acid, mutedly floral white wines I have had recently. I have enjoyed them all, enough that I am tempted to ignore the question of value; the Ermes Pavese Morgex, for instance, is lively and intriguing enough that maybe I shouldn't worry about having paid $40 for it. But the question that always lingers in the back of my mind as I drink another lightweight, high-acid white is, "Would I ever buy another bottle of this rather than the $20 Clos des Briords Muscadet?" For the Grosjean Petite Arvine, or the Filipa Pato Nossa Calcario, the answer is, yes, they are both certainly worth 1.5 Briords. For the Ardoisieres Silice, which costs roughly the same as the Grosjean, the answer is probably negative. The Silice is an admirable Alpine wine, but there is not a lot of there there for the money. |

6/2/2023 - RGCM Gananda wrote: 87 pointsMixed notes of apple and citrus on the nose along with a distinct, saline quality. Between light and medium bodied (11% ABV) with soft, white orchard fruit notes upfront and through the middle, especially apple and pear. The pear notes gain tartness towards the back and blend with strong grapefruit, other citrus notes and acidity. The acidity lingers nicely through the finish, contributing positively to length. Has the acidity to remain fresh and lively for at least another year. I may open my next bottle as soon as late Q4 2023. |

10/28/2022 - Ernestas wrote: 87 pointsSomething new on my horizon, located in Savoie region, just south from Jura, next to Swiss border and just an hour away from Annecy, an alpine town I am in love with. A single varietal of Jacquere a most common regional grape. Medium yellow colour. Aroma of bruised apples, peaches, chalk, yellow plum, stone, hint of ripe pear. Palate is juicy and zesty with smooth texture and very intense green apple acidity, mineral, ripe apple, citrus juice and stone fruit flavours, saline notes at the refreshing finish. |

2/12/2022 - mks83 Likes this wine: 90 pointsDay 1 - Dark garnet color at the core, clear bright reddish purple at the rim. Nose - raspberry, strawberry, red beets, raw/wet wood, black pepper, some reduction. Palate - sharp zippy acidity and light dry tannin that lingers like crushed berries / dusty berry seeds. 10.5% abv, light/bright, aromatically primal and short finish but paradoxically deep and substantial/layered in mouth. Probably still closed, 89 for now. |

And even if it's summer, that would work too, but all the more so if the aromas of fall and winter have made it into your cuisine, as this wine has a natural affinity given its cold sub-Alpine / frozen lake home! |
