Way too much barrel influence was our take on this tasting. |

Racy palate loaded with caramel, creme brulee, coffee, and black cherry fruit, along with some fresh mint. Black raspberry appears again on the finish wit brown sugar, vanilla, oak, and fresh herbs. Very Napa in style with a lot of oak influence. |

Deep, rich palate of black cherry, blck currant, coffee crema, mocha, and bramble. Sleek tannins on the finish with slate, dark plum, bitter chicory, earth, and oak... but it again see, quite tight. Worth holding off to see if it opens up with time. |

The Clew and Kent Price were outstanding, great nose, taste, and long finish, closely followed by the Alioto Pier. The 2015 Sterling was lighter, less aromatic, and had a shorter finish. |

This does need prep and time to open. Great pairing with bbq tri-tip and lamb tonight, the Stagecoach fruit, tannins, and little sweet finish blend well with grilled meat. |

Same results after 24 hrs… so decanting 2-3 hrs at this time is about right to let this fully open (last year it opened well after double decanting 12 hrs). Very deep ruby color. Lots of red cassis and raspberry, hint of caramel on the nose. A little peppery spice to open, red cassis, plum, touch of stewed blueberry, vanilla, hint of milk chocolate and 35-38 sec finish. This smells and tastes representative of Stagecoach. I really like the QPR of this vintage, better than 2018. |
