2015 Pleasant Hill Cellars Tempranillo-TannatColumbia Valley Red Blend more |
12/6/2022 - oakville72 Likes this wine: 92 pointsAbsolutely terrific wine. A nontraditional blend of 73% tempranillo and 27% tannat. The tempranillo supplies bouquet and finesse while the tannat puts forward tannic body and finish. Yummy. |

12/6/2022 - oakville72 Likes this wine: 91 pointsDeep red. Cinnamon spice nose. Dusty, tongue-gripping, tannic entry along with plenty of barrel spice. Very Bordeaux-like and still young. 36% merlot, 33% cabernet sauvignon, 23% cabernet franc, 5% malbec, 3% petit verdot. Another 10 years will help. |

2012 Pleasant Hill Cellars CinsaultColumbia Valley more |
12/6/2022 - oakville72 Likes this wine: 92 pointsAbsolutely terrific stuff with dynamic blueberry-raspberry nose, spicy fruit and lengthy finish encompassed by tongue-teasing acidity. 75% cinsault, 20% malbec, 3% petit verdot, 2% tempranillo. So sad that terrific small, family wineries like Pleasant Hill succumb while larger wineries producing mediocre wines survive. |

10/11/2015 - VinZen Likes this wine: 89 pointsSelected as an alternative to Pinot noir for a pairing with salmon. Fruity and acidic with a light body but enough depth and texture to embrace the oils of the king filet. We will happily open this with salmon in the future, and try other Lembergers as well. |

2012 Pleasant Hill Cellars Cabernet SauvignonRattlesnake Hills more |
4/16/2015 - bcschwitt Likes this wine: NRThis is a blend of three Bordeaux grapes, each adding its own character. Cabernet gives black fruit, elegance and structure; Malbec adds complexity through chocolate notes and smoothness; Petit verdot is used to add tannic structure and depth. The nose is expressive with cassis and floral aromas while the palate has soft, dark fruit flavors layered with subtle nuances of mocha, leather, and vanilla. Enjoy with roasted lamb, rib-eye steak or cheese. |

6/5/2004 - BradA wrote: 84 pointsThis is one of many new Wash producers and one to pass on for now. A reedy, thin and lackluster wine from a great vintage. Hmmm. This Carnation Red at $13 would be blown away by Bunchgrass or D2 (other Wash wines with a better track record). There are so many wineries, I had stopped tasting new entrants. THis effort will certainly keep me buying them as single tasting bottles, not as something to lay down. |
