Consistently good if not entirely fresh (it is mature, after all) and after two hours of dinner the wine was still nicely enjoyable. Leather, sweet tobacco, red berries, soil, etc. Now thru 2025. A nice surprise. 13,5% abv. recommended |

1/23/2024 - Adam Pritzker Likes this wine: 91 points91-92. Nice deep ruby color. Very nice aromatics of cedar, flint, mineral, smoke, herbs, dark fruits. Medium to full bodied with very nice concentration, good fruit, tannins and acid. Dark fruits, herbs, herbaceous earthiness. Hints of strawberry, raspberry and tomato but much more about dark fruits and earthiness. Long finish now. Drinks well now but will likely improve over the next 1-2 years as the tannins fall. Likely best now to 2027. Great QPR. Much more old world rustic style chianti (but with clean wine making techniques which make it much better than this style was in the past) - this makes it different than the Terra di Seta which is more about clean ripe fruit and no real rustic notes. This is old school chianti in a good way and a must try. Great QPR. I am a huge fan of the TDS and I am glad this one is available. Another good value and good quality Italian. |
