P: as nose plus some spritz, vanilla, balanced acidity

In my view there are better bottles for the price but all the same a decent experience

Another great vintage. Absolutely approachable already. Somewhat more oak than expected but that settles down with some air. Nice body and impressive length at this early age.

An amazing Sancerre. Quite restrained and orchestrated with a lite more fruit. This is built to last.

Delivers a beautiful Sb-bouquet of nettles, 🥝 kiwi and black currants. Not at all towards cat's pee. There's a vague flowery branch as well. The steely minerality is more in the nose than on the palate. Long, refined, beautiful that makes you beg for more.

On the palate this sang beautifully with Monseigneur Baguette with chèvre, sliced red onion and rocket salad.

2nd of 2, first one back in 2012. Well, it's still hanging in there just fine; fruit's maybe softened a bit, but still a nice, easy, food versatile red for lighter fare or standalone sipping. I don't see Sancerre rouge too much, so it's a treat to have any at all.

Garnet color with transparency. There's some pretty floral aromatics leading the way here, along with white pepper, cherry, and some darker fruit. Light to medium body, with medium acid and finish, and flavors of high toned red fruits, lemon, and minerals. Drinks like a ruché or Chinon. Side note: that is the most substantial punt I think I've ever seen.

The bouquet is in general a bit more shy on this one and more mineral driven...

The flavour has developed in a very nice way. The gooseberry is almost gone and instead first hints of honey and sweetness appear.
Flavour is quite rounded and slightly creamy.

If it would have a bit more acidity it would probably be on a stellar trajectory.

I suspect it will soon be mostly honey and minerality which would be totally fine.

So quite happy this was not a totally bad buy.

I still think the price performance is somewhat difficult if you can get a nice Chablis or even a Dupont Fahn wine for the same money.

Quite good with a pasta vongole as the spicy seafood pasta takes the edge away from the wine's acidity and sauvignon pungency. The fruit is on the ripe side, which I actually liked, making it less steely. is there a hint of oak? I think so but was not paying full attention.

Last of my five bottles. This has developed in the direction of modestly dense dessert wine - not Sauternes-style but could very well have been mistaken for a Beerenauslese. On the darker side of medium yellow. Ripe apples, raisins, saffron.

Vertical tasting of 2013-2017.

On the maturer side, this had a lot of ripe fruit, and energy seems to be fading. Quite thick for a Sancerre sb, would have blinded this as Chardonnay or Riesling. Probably time to drink up.

This was (as expected) the most feisty vintage tasted. Stingy acidity, blackcurrant leaves and kiwi on the nose, elderflower and lychee on the palate.

Nose > Both herbal/grassy & ripe, with fig, nectarine, red cherry & plum.
Not altogether harmonious, & the disparate elements are fighting each other.
Don't see it harmonizing to anything that's typical of Sancerre ahead.
Palate > More enjoyable, & slightly more typical on the palate. Still the combo of ripe/rich & herbaceous/grassy.
Adds a hint of almond to the nectarine. Acidity could be better.
Not sure if they were trying for mix of grape ripenesses, but they don't quite pull it off anyway.
Not a bad wine, per se, but not what most are expecting when the pop a bottle of Sancerre.
(I might score it a point, or point+ higher, but not as a Sancerre, since it's strayed from the beaten path a bit).
